Couldn't find your old thread, just an update:http://www.wect.com/Global/story.asp?S=7947536&nav=2gQcNEW HANOVER COUNTY -- A first look at the settlement between New Hanover County and the family of Peyton Strickland, the teenager shot to death by a sheriff's deputy. This is the first time all of the language has been revealed publicly. What's remarkable about the agreement is that it was handwritten.Sheriff Sid Causey wrote it out in longhand. The terms are: a payment of 2.45 million dollars to Strickland's family and a public apology, which Causey has already issued. In March, the terms will be spelled out in type-written documents for the approval of the County Commissioners.[quote]

Would be weird to receive 2.45 million dollars as the result of your kids death. I mean imagine how it would feel to spend money after you got that.
