Suspect Grabs Officer's Gun, Misses Point-Blank Shot

here's the main part, which includes the part that kinda made me think hmmmmmmm

Quote :
"When Wilson, 50, of 314 Barbee St. in Zebulon, resisted arrest, Howard tried to use a Taser on him, but the device didn't work because one of the darts that carry the electrical charge missed its mark, police said.

Howard then tried to pepper spray Wilson, and as they continued to struggle Wilson pulled Howard’s gun from his holster, police said. He shot at Howard as Howard pushed him away, and the shot went into the ceiling, police said. The gun jammed when he tried to fire a second time."

first off, that sounds like some finagle's law shit, and i'm sure that cop is thanking his unlucky stars. the only thing that actually ended up working was the shot that was taken at his DOME.

second thing. maybe its cause of a couple of old CSI:Miami episodes i watched (WHOREATIO RULZ) but to anyone who has seen it on A&E 600 times a day. ever see the ones where SPEEDLE's gun would jam/malfunction and they lectured him about cleaning it?

yes i know life is not CSI:miami. but, to the gun people out there, isn't it kind of weird that the officer's service pistol jammed? considering that out of anyone with a gun, cops are PROBABLY the only ones with rules, etc regarding cleaning, or maybe TEST-firing, etc? not sure what i'm thinking they likely have to do, but you'd think they'd WANT to make sure that gun is gonna fire before they go arresting felons and shit.

so is a jammed gun just bad luck, am i just reading too much into it? or is there more to the story? just curious, and glad the officer got out of it ok. but thats a big

i know right, thats like the worst possible outcome for everything. and it sounds like the poor guy was going by the book.

100 bucks says next time he goes right for the pistol

well its not always the actual gun that jams. could be the clip. could be a fresh gun that needs to be "broken in".

ive been told the reason why new clips jam is because the spring needs to be broken in.

not sure if that is bogus or not, but maybe it was just a ploy for me to not return one of my clips i was claiming was defective

baonest got mad clips for his grip, YO

but seriously.

so thats one vote for "maybe proper training/maintainence could have prevented this?"

like if i were a cop i'd want to make sure my new clip worked so i'd take that bitch to the gun range and play with it first.

right?

i took a girl to a shooting range once a couple years back...gun kept jamming because her wrists werent strong enough to hold the gun when it would recoil.

so could it be a limp-wristed shooter?

^Bingo.

Most likely an inexperienced shooter who didn't know how to grip a pistol.

^^^

my first thought

except he prob was in such a rush, and was grabbing it from an awkward angle, that he didn't grip the pistol well.
