My spring break plans fell through, and now I'm looking a pretty boring week. Not that I'm complaining too much - it will be nice to just hang out at the house with nothing to do. But I need something to keep me busy. I was thinking about buying a video game system with the money I would have spent out of town, and just wasting the week with it. Any suggestions on which one (cheaper the better)? Any other ideas?

volunteer one day at the SPCA
another day, see about renting a canoe and go canoeing (if you aren't able to, zorthage has a canoe...he'd probably want to be with while you're canoeing, but he's good company)
one day, drive to the beach. sleep in your car overnight, maybe.
another day, drive to spencer and hit up the transportation museum

I would say get a Wii, but apparently it's impossible to get any because they're always sold out. Maybe you could go for a DS or a PSP though. PS2s are cheap nowadays as well. If you want video games that is.

Not worth it. I'm from Salisbury and Spencer is not worth the drive. You'll get bored in like 3 hours. No lie. Would be really easy to get there by train though.

If you want an actual hobby, you could take up some kind of craft type thing. Like teach yourself to crochet and crank out half an afghan during the week or something.

you could start running? (not far at first)

it would take up some time, but after a week of doing it every day you should see some improvement too

been to the art museum? hit up some art galleries downtown? see a play? get tickets to a hockey game? (haven't checked if there are any this week at home) go to a driving range? go to a shooting range? if it was spring/summer i'd say go to the butterfly house at the museum of life and science. go explore 9th street in durham and franklin street in ch. go see a movie.

you can always get a video game or a pc game and disappear as well.

get a model to build, (though i don't know of any good model shops around here anymore.... there used to be one in CV way back in the day)

hell take a walk around CV-campus area, some interesting houses back in there (behind the fire stations and banks)

all sorts of shit you can do. go get a friend and do some of this stuff together. go visit a friend you haven't had any time with in ages.

Or run-train for the week and run a 5k on saturday!
or do other community service, just google it - there are a ton local

go to the zoo. it isn't a hobby but it would be fun. rent a season of a tv show that you've never seen. like six feet under or the wire or dexter and just watch the whole thing. or just sleep all day (this is what i would do)
