nightly tester tools(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6543). after it's installed, you can look under add-ons and click the make all compatible button. restart and voila.[Edited on February 27, 2008 at 11:44 PM. Reason : ]

unfortunately, its not a matter of making a previously installed add on compatibleit wont let me install the plugin period

why did you post this in the feedback forum?

type about:config in the browser. in the filter area put "extensions.checkCompatibility" and right click on it and hit toggle to make the value false. If it isn't there you can create a new one by right clicking->New->Boolean, entering extensions.checkCompatibility and then setting it to false.or just download the extension EMCE posted and it should work.[Edited on February 28, 2008 at 10:08 AM. because wouldnt it be nifty, if this feature could be written into crazy code
2/29/2008 5:36:42 AM
Not really. If this were incorporated server-side, the code would run every time every user loaded a thread. Each time, the server would say:"Oh, brainysmurf is requesting a thread. Does she have any users blocked?"Then it would stop and think."Okay, she has some users blocked. Did any of those users post in this thread?"Then it would stop and think."Okay, one did. So I'll send her the thread without his posts."Those two lookups alone, even if executed in the merest milliseconds, would add up quick because the Wolf Web attracts so many readers at once. It's no problem on the client side, because your individual machine is just processing the information served locally, so it's not holding up any other server processes and fucking things up for the rest of us.I think it's pointless, anyway. Easier not to read it than to try to insulate yourself, especially since there's no reliable way to prevent seeing the posts in quotes, etc. The worst part is that even if you block one problem user's posts, it's not going to spare you from the hundred responses from other users who DON'T block him, and that's what derails threads and makes your experience really suck.

Is there any way to make an extension that would block user threads from appearing? I'm getting tired of all the NC86 lyrics threads

learn to write extentions. spend your time in a manner other than complaining.
