we came in 19th. not bad at all.And really, it was a freakin scam. the GM SUV that won it, BLATENTLY violated the rules multiple times including running into another car that the rules state is an auto DQ.

We failed because of another team.A different teams car broke down on track, and they stopped everything. The NCSU car was under a high voltage line when they were told to stop for a minute. That minute turned into half an hour, and the magnetic field scrambled some of thier sensors. With their sensors screwy, they didn't do nearly as well.Through all its testing, it performed nearly flawlessly.

should have used a civic
2/28/2008 11:39:39 AM
wow that sucks... Automotive Actuators are subjected to a 400V/m efield as one of their qualification tests... requires putting lots of chokes into the circuits and those cause oscillation from time to time...I never really thought about why until I read that the car got screwed up by power lines... makes perfect sense now.

Ahhh..I had to take someone to the hospital for that a few weeks ago, but I couldn't see it because he had on a hoodie. They sedated him, lifted his arm parallel to the floor, pulled it back, and it slipped right into place.[Edited on February 29, 2008 at 1:52 PM. Reason : l]
