college students are the worst demographic for Cici's, the amount of pizza a college student can consume at the price wouldn't yield nearly the profits that catering to kids and their parents does

my guess is that Mexican food is just too rich and filling to lend itself well to buffet form

it had a huge salad bar, with 3 or 4 kinds of everything, like fruit, pudding, cheese, and of course veggies

(and those awesome little cracker-breadsticks coated in sesame seeds........I miss those)

a mexican bar, with taco shells and tortillas along with beans, beef, cheese, sour cream, salsa, rice, nachos, etc.

and an italian bar, with a few pastas, "alfredo" & red sauce, pizza/lasagna? and garlic toast (just buns cut in half)


it wasn't high quality or anything, but you could make what ever you wanted, all-you-can-eat

I often made crazy shit like burritos of chicken nuggets, french fries, diced tomatoes, and "alfredo" sauce

and that was before I ever [authentically] had "the munchies"

Have you ever eaten at Cici's? This place wouldn't die cause of college students. It's some of the worst pizza ever, no one can ever eat more than a 1/5 of a slice.

it doesn't matter that the pizza isn't good

it's food... and it's cheap... and it doesn't require cooking... and there are unlimited drinks...

going to cici's epitomizes the college experience.

cici's pizza is bad, but pizza is like sex -- no matter how sub-par it is, it's still good enough



but yeah, mobs of drunken students would put that place out of business if it were too close to campus

even I've had like 20 slices on one occasion, plus salad (the secret is not getting a drink or eating the crusts)
