So i am gonna own up and newb all over myself but....

What make/model is that gun?
A/F/S= Auto/Full/Single?
Silencer and Folding stock are the correct terminology?

And finally the corset is to allow you to grip the silencer and not burn your fingers?

umm...selector switch is almost always where the thumb of the trigger hand is...so that would make that a righty

that's either very illegal or it's really a semi-automatic pistol with a fake suppressor design hiding what's really just a longer barrel and a selector switch that is just for show

or you're a very special individual

or that's just a pic from teh interwebz

Class 3 weapons aren't illegal and that's a fully automatic mini uzi.

Why would it be anything else?

Honest citizens can get their hands on guns like that if they work the system a bit.

Just from looking at that you can most certainly tell that it is not for show and that it is, in fact, all zombie-killing business.

No, those are just part of the class 3 classification I believe. A local gun shop sells class 3 silenced pistols and automatic weapons, along with others on their website.

For example:

http://www.pdhsc.com/class_iii2.htm

A suppressed mp5 and suppressed 0.22 are on that page.

You can see all the shit honest people can get w/ a class 3, lol.

[NO] looking at a picture cannot tell you whether a switch is actually mechanically relevant or if that functionality has been disabled to make it purchasable with a regular pistol permit

you learn something new every day, so it isn't illegal but it is pretty difficult and impractical to get those kinds of things

Quote :
"All NFA items must be registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). Private owners wishing to purchase an NFA item must obtain permission from the ATF, obtain a signature from the county sheriff or city or town chief of police (not necessarily permission), pass an extensive background check to include submitting a photograph and finger prints, fully register the firearm, receive ATF written permission before moving the firearm across state lines, and pay a tax. The request to transfer ownership of an NFA item is made on an ATF Form 4."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Firearms_Act

Good luck getting all of the necessary parties to agree to sign for you to be allowed to purchase one just for fun, I wouldn't think many sheriffs want that liability of signing for some average joe that suddenly decides he wants an automatic or suppressor weapon. Plus the gov't is going to have a very close eye on you after all of the registrations and background checks and any violations of any of the many related rules carry pretty stiff penalties and fees.

Also, a class 3 license is only for dealers wanting to buy and resell those kinds of weapons so unless honest people wanted to become a heavily licensed and regulated arms dealer, class 3 would not be the way to go about getting one of those.

You also have to be able to produce a copy of your permit papers at any time you have the weapon or else you can get in serious trouble and you can bet if you take an automatic to a range you're going to draw a lot of unwanted attention.

Interesting stuff...

not really. if you purchased it before the machine gun ban, it's clean. why would you buy something disabled for show? that would be impractical.

silencers don't exist. they are sound suppressors for all intents and purposes.

also to purchase class III firearms, you don't need local approval. atf approval yes.

tracking.

FWIW: since 1934 there have been a whopping two known cases of legally owned automatic weapons being used in commission of a murder.
