pumpkin adds a little bit of natural sweetness.actually it wasn't the stereotypical pumpkin, but the butternut squash. mildly sweet, and beautiful color and texture. flesh of squash cubed and roasted!

^, ^^^made it myself. i am a good cook, or at least that's what everybody who tastes my food tells me. i also made some brownies last week that are some of the best brownies you have never tasted. and they are healthy! but at the same time, taste super wicked and moist.i also make a great fruit salad, the regular kind! in a big pyrex bowl, cut up bananas, tangerines, grapes, guavas, nectarines/peaches, mango, pomegranate, apples, pears, kiwis, and squeezed juice of one orange or grapefruit (or more if you want more liquid). any fruits will do, but try to add some exotic, tropical, and brightly colored fruits.and here is the magic touch: squeeze a whole lemon in there, or 2 limes, and add fresh finely chopped mint leaves (dried will do if fresh not available). then sprinkle with cinammon. thoroughly mix it all up.let sit in the fridge for half a day for flavours to come out and infuse.enjoy!tastes even better the next day!^^

^^^ I'd probably skip the cinnamon but that sounds like a fine fruit salad. How'd you make the brownies? I recently discovered the key to making chewy, fudgy brownies from scratch. Makes me want to make a batch right now
2/23/2008 7:15:23 AM
^^ hey, didn't your gf leave you? and i am gay? you are just jealous ^ sorry, i mixed it up. either you addLEMON JUICE + CHOPPED FRESH MINTor you addCINNAMON + REAL VANILLA ESSENCE (may want to use apple juice in this case instead of orange juice as the liquid base)the first one tastes acidic and refreshing. the second one sweeter and heartwarming.as for the brownies, there are various techniques to make them moist/chewy/fudgy:1) add applesauce (tried it once for a cake, and it worked)2) add mayonnaise (never tried it, but many people swear by this)3) add oat bran (this is what i do)4) add coarsely chopped prunes (i also do this)(the soluble fiber in oats and prunes holds a lot of water)i also use less flour and more pure cocoa powder than most recipes, and also just 1 egg. 2 eggs is also ok, but 3 eggs will make them cake-like.oh, and for an amazing touch, after you have made your mix, divide it into two, and add a large mashed banana (or 2 small) to half the batter. pour both in the same baking pan (side-by-side, not on top of each other). when done, taste both and tell me you don't like the banana ones better!so what is your key?
2/23/2008 3:48:35 PM
that's not fruit.
2/23/2008 3:49:41 PM
