In Theaters 21 November 2008

Director: David Yates

Some new members of cast include:
Helen McCrory (originally had been cast to play Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007), but had to back out because she was pregnant) She will play Bellatrix's sister, Narcissa Malfoy in this film.
John Broadbent: Horace Slughorn

Warner Brother's Plot Synopsis
Quote :
"Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort's defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn't counted on Romilda Vane's chocolates! And then there's Hermione, simpering (sic) with jealousy but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again."

The first sentence in these things should be

She's legal.

or

She's not yet legal.

The rest of it isn't really relevant.

Ho-ly sh it, I totally hadn't noticed that we haven't even seen a cameo of Narcissa in the movies until now. And she's a really great character, too.

Yeah I think they use quidditch in this one, because it is the setup for a big moment if I'm remembering the moment correctly, it's been a while since I read it, haha.

Harry defeats Voldemort; someone important dies. Repeat.

But I'm excited anyways. The most recent movies still haven't topped the greatness of Prisoner of Azkaban.

I thought they had gotten Naomi Watts to play Narcissa. I will have to reread this one as I don't remember who the half-blood prince is.

I know it's not for this movie... but still interesting:

Quote :
"Last 'Harry Potter' Book Becomes 2 Films
Thursday March 13 5:50 AM ET

Harry Potter was the center of seven novels, but he'll star in eight films. The final book in the wildly successful series will be made into two films, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

Producers are expected to announce Thursday that J.K. Rowling's last "Potter" installment, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," will be split into two parts on the big screen. The first film is slated for release in November 2010, with part two following in May 2011.

"It was born out of purely creative reasons," producer David Heyman told the Times. "Unlike every other book, you cannot remove elements of this book."

The two final "Potter" films will be shot concurrently, much like the blockbuster trilogy based on J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy novel "The Lord of the Rings"

Another famous Tolkien tome, "The Hobbit" is also being split into two live-action movies set for back-to-back shooting to begin next year.

Filming on the sixth "Potter" flick, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," began in September.

"It's been brilliant," said star Daniel Radcliffe. "It's also, I think, the funniest of the films so far."

The "Potter" film franchise has pulled in $4.5 billion at the worldwide box office"

Splitting the last book into two films?

What a ripoff, they should just make it 3.5 hours like Return of the King.

Snape kills dumbledore. Bellatrix kills Dobby. And other people that die: Hedwig, Madeye, Wormtail, Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Tonk's dad Ted, Snape DOES get killed by Voldemort, Colin Creevey, some guy named Dirk Cresswell who was with Ted, and Harry kills Voldemort

Along the way they've totally abandoned the fact that Harry is supposed to have wild, unkempt hair that grows back faster than normal. Dude looks like he just came out of the barbershop in this one.

Less Fleur and more Quidditch, alot more Quidditch, it plays a large role in the storyline. I am glad they are putting Quidditch back in the plot.

I didn't really like the 3D portions in IMAX for the last movie. It just wasn't crisp, and kind of gave me a headache. I wish they would just do it in regular IMAX.
