my grandpa didn't quit smoking till he was 76, he is 80 now. Strongest and most healthiest old guy I've ever seen. Well until he lifted a riding lawn mower out of a ditch and broke his back, but he's nearly healed from that.

but all smoke is bad for you.

smoke causes mutations in the cells it comes into contact with. this has been proven.

therefore, inhaling smoke is harmful to your health, and will eventually kill you. yes, you're going to die sometime anyway, but smoking just accelerates the process.

Just because I'm statistically much more likely to hurt myself through smoking doesn't mean that I will get hurt.

Also, I will stop wearing my seat belt. That gives me a higher probability of being seriously injured in a wreck, but no one can look in a crystal ball and say that I'll definitely get hurt.
