will man up soon and drop out of the race since it is clear that Obama has the momentum and support? I mean I know it will never happen due to Billary's blind ambition, but if this thing lingers all the way to the convention than that gives the winner very little time to campaign against McCain who is clearly going to be the Republican nominee.Oh yeah for the record, I am no longer Republican18, I have pretty much wiped my hands clean of that party. I am now Libertarian18 [Edited on February 12, 2008 at 10:20 PM. Reason : .]

Obama started out as more of the underdog, but has clearly had a consistent small margin in the primary voting. But if you include the super delegates, it's like 50% to 49%.I would not quit a race while at 49%.
2/12/2008 10:27:38 PM
thats my point, the super delegates dont vote till the convention.....which gives the winner no time to campaign against McCain who will be out all spring and summer campaigning. I think Billary should see where the wind is blowing and drop out.
2/12/2008 10:29:41 PM
Eh I could see where this could wind up a Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton ticket, depending on how nasty the campaign gets before the convention. Hillary is so polarizing and Obama is so appealing that I think one might cancel out the other...
2/12/2008 10:34:16 PM
I think they dont like each other enough for that
2/12/2008 10:43:55 PM
If they think they can win together they'll be slobbering over each other in no time...
2/12/2008 10:48:19 PM
Clinton yielding to Obama and taking vice isn't going to happen. She's too prideful, I think.
2/12/2008 10:49:31 PM
agreed
2/12/2008 10:52:48 PM
Do you think he'd do it? Has there ever been a Vice who then ran for president?
2/12/2008 10:55:44 PM
I don't normally say something like this, but... "prideful" Try proud.Anyway, while Clinton still has a slim chance, and more super-delegates pledged to her right now, the supers can still change before the convention, and almost every state still left is being predicted to go Obama. And in regards to Clinton's pride/ambition/whatever, CNN mentioned that she hasn't congratulated Obama on his wins today. It's minor and they're just grasping for another election story, but it still illustrates to some degree how much they don't like eachother.
2/12/2008 10:56:31 PM
I think she still has pretty decent chances in Texas and Ohio, actually. And they are big states with lots of delegates.is prideful not a word? [Edited on February 12, 2008 at 10:59 PM. Reason : proud?]
2/12/2008 10:57:45 PM
^yep. Although I heard on the radio that texas is being split up by districts and the biggest districts are black. SO she could very well carry the state but get less delegates. LOL
2/12/2008 11:01:04 PM
you are all missing the point, this isnt who can win, its about who should drop out
2/12/2008 11:46:19 PM
Well...I think that if Obama beats Hillary he won't have any problem with McCain. McCain is a pussycat compared to Hillary.
2/12/2008 11:54:02 PM
Hillary won't drop out. She thinks it's her right to be president and she won't back down. She doesn't get that no one outside of the far left will vote for her. Also, while the Clinton years get portrayed as the Big Rock Candy Mountain by their supporters, a lot of people still remember the crooked things that they pulled.
2/13/2008 8:19:00 AM
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/pridefulBut Hillary wouldn't drop out, hell no. She'd even cling on to a VP position if it came down to it. She would just have Obama rubbed out and then just take over the presidency as she'd hoped to do in the first place.
2/13/2008 8:42:48 AM
I thought prideful worked in that sentence, but hey.
2/13/2008 9:41:12 AM
Obama has momentum and charisma. I could see the Republican base ignoring McCain this election and just not voting while moderates flock to Obama. If Hillary wins the nomination because of back room dealing though, I could easily see moderates flocking to McCain, as well as a republican base enraged at the prospect of Team Clinton v2.

Despite all this talk about "momentum", Hillary isn't dead yet (remember when they said the same thing in December?).

Does anyone really think the Super delegates will vote against the way of the voters?
2/14/2008 12:38:05 PM
They won't - no way, especialy after what happened in the 2000 general election
