...when there's nothing to blow!Every morning I'm at work early on campus and they're out blowing imaginary leaves. It's not fall anymore. There are no leaves outside anywhere around here. Why are you paying these people to do this? What a waste of money and time. Also, why is this campus so tree-cutting-happy? They just cut down all the trees at the end of the Court of Carolina next to the 1911 building yesterday. A couple months ago they cut down that nice big tree over by Daniels, in front of Riddick that must have been there for at least 75 years. Why did they cut it down? Well the dumbasses who designed that handicap access ramp had it end right at the base of the tree, so instead of moving the ramp or having the foresight to not build it there they just cut the tree down./rant

my personal favorite was a few weeks ago when I saw a big ad NCSU had taken out which said we need to conserve water and showing us how much we used the previous day on campus...a few minutes later I look out my office window and see them outside pressure washing the bricks while it is raining

The one in front of Riddick really pissed me off. If there is one *natural* feature this campus has enough of to be noticeable, it's mature oak trees. If you keep cutting them down, we're going to run out eventually, you can't exactly grow another one like it in 5 years. I was perturbed when I say what they did to the court of NC, but I'll reserve judgment. Generally I'm against removing greenery in general, but that row of holly trees couldn't have been *that* old, and I wasn't the biggest fan of them anyway. They also got rid of a couple of camellia bushes (which I don't like, but that's just me) and they left the catalpa aka "bean tree" and the other couple of mature trees near Winston. It's actually kind of neat to be able to stand at the far end of the court and see more of 1911 than just the top row of windows.
