By Samantha Thompson Smith, Staff Writer (2/11/08 edition of the Raleigh News and Observer)Organizers of a new television broadcast of a fashion show in Raleigh are looking for a few good models to strut their stuff.Brian Williams and Betzi Hekman, the two people behind the show called Strut, are looking for about 35 male or female models during modeling auditions March 4 at The Mint on Fayetteville Street in Raleigh.Male models need to be sizes 29 to 34, and female models are needed in sizes 2 to 8.Hekman said interested models should bring head shots and a résumé. They should also be dressed to impress with proper footwear (dress shoes for men and heels for women).More important, models should be available May 2 for rehearsal and May 3, which is the date of the live fashion show.Williams, who has been involved in TV presentations, has teamed up with Social the Magazine to produce the show. Williams and Hekman have gather an impressive list of local sponsors, local designers (or at least designers with strong North Carolina roots) and local hairstylists to be part of the event.The designer list includes Amy Stephenson, known for her jeans line; Miranda Laughlin of the clothing line Bleighm, and shoe designer Guy Marshall. The show also will have jewelry designer Elizabeth Yarborough and Holly Aiken, a Raleigh handbag designer.Other designers include Kerry Catherine Jewelry, Verses Jeans, Aaron Patrick Custom Clothiers, Phortiistorm, Metallic Spiral and Meschantes. Stores participating are SoHo Clothing, Bebe and NV Clothes for Men.The show will be filmed live May 3 at 9 p.m. Then it will air four times in May on The CW.Registration for the modeling auditions will start at 7 p.m. and auditions begin at 8 p.m. For more information, contact Hekman at (804) 240-1901 or betzi@nvclothes.com.
