Pretty simple, I need to get one soon. What do you guys reccomend? I think I would like a the low-profile type. Whats the best/cheapest place to get one in Raleigh?

i bought a Cam-Locker from agri-supply in garner. i think i payed around $350 for it. it's a low-pro shallow box. i had a UWS same style as my new one on my old truck and i payed around $200 for it. it was a decent box just not secure enough for my likings.here's a pic of it.[Edited on February 10, 2008 at 10:20 PM. UWS has about 10 or so lock combos now, they are coming out with a cam locker type very soon.

did you not check out the camlocker? another advantage with the camlocker is it comes carpeted. i didn't think it was a big deal until i took stuff out, brought it into the house, and set it on the carpet only to find out that grey aluminum dust stains like hell and it gets all over anything that sits on the bottom of the toolbox. take it from somebody who's been there, pay extra for the camlocker. it's an awesome box. another thing i didn't like about the UWS is where the pistons for the lid mount. it takes up a lot of space in the part of the box that sits on the bed rails. the camlocker's pistons slide down just to the side of it.

Yea I looked at them, I'm just not sure if i can justify the price difference. I'm not going to have anything valuable in it (jumper cables, ropes, anything dirty I dont want in the cab, but also not out in the weather) so im not that worried about security. The carpeting is nice, but i think i could do it myself for like $15 with stuff from Lowes.

its well worth it IF you plan on using the toolbox. if it is for looks then screw it.

^^^ I'm def planning on using it... not everyday, but always having it will be comforting. I just dont see myself leaving really expensive stuf it in overnight since its a crew cab, i can just move it inside

i had a nice delta, but unless you lock the thing all the time (pain in the ass if you use it a lot) the latches can open going down the highway or if you hit a bump just right. the camlocks dont do this, plus they are just more secure in general.brian is totally correct, the bare aluminum interior of most boxes will rub off on EVERYTHING in the box and ruin everthing it gets transfered to (upholstery, clothes, carpet, etc.) the carpeted boxes are the shit.

marine carpet and spray-on upholstery adhesive works pretty good for much less $$$

^ yea thats what i was referring too. Or I could even do the 'DIY' bed liner inside of it. I think that would work well too.
