its my b-day and i can get a nice dinner that i don't have to pay for. melting pot is booked though. i'm looking for something in the durham or southpoint or the chapel hill area.i'd like something good, but more importantly expensive since i don't have to pay

just went to Kankis earlier in the week, treating my boyfriend to the meal after finishing his master exams, which only came to aobut $50 for the two of us. so i need to make sure the meal i get for free goes higher than that.

If this is for tomorrow, it might help if you mention what kinds of food you like and don't like. Because although a good steak is always nice, I don't think it'd be my top choice for a Birthday dinner...Actually...idk...but, just a thought!

so it turns out we did end up with a reservation at melting pot after all, and that they had been called ahead and had balloons and a dessert waiting for me. i hadn't blown out candles on a birthday in a few years.i haven't eaten that much at once in a long time, or had a dinner bill that high, that i didn't have to pay because of the slow service at first they waived about $30 off the bill (i hadn't really noticed it being slow b/c i was having such a good time anyways & they were very friendly), but it was still in the 60s. luckily they gave us a free dessert pass to go back again, no purchases necessary.all in all it was a very good experience. A++ would eat again.[Edited on February 9, 2008 at 6:42 PM. Reason : (i should also add a thanks to everyone for the suggestions!)]
