i've heard very good things about a blackberry... i have an iphone and am thinking of selling it for a blackberry until the 3G/GPS enabled iphones come out at least..ps search the fucking internet
2/7/2008 9:59:11 PM
I've been searching There's not many definitive "go with this b/c of this" tho....
2/7/2008 10:04:32 PM
it's a lot of personal preference.the blackberries dont have the "cool" factor really of the touch screen user interfacebut as a phone, grade athe internet browsing coul dbe a bit better, and the iphone gets that nodbut the bb has the price advantagei dont knowif you're not getting it for work, and just for personal reasons, just go with an iphone[Edited on February 7, 2008 at 10:07 PM. I'd die if I didn't have my treo
2/7/2008 10:08:13 PM
the phone has the work w/ sprint, otherwise i'd get an iphone in a heartbeat
2/7/2008 10:10:20 PM
well that makes your decision then doesnt it
2/7/2008 10:11:03 PM
does the treo 750 have 3G? if so, that'd be my recommendations. otherwise, theyre really all about equal..just depends whether cost is important to you
2/7/2008 10:11:24 PM
I think I'd like to stay relatively cheap in case google comes out with a phone
2/7/2008 10:15:30 PM
the new treo (i have the 755) has GPS. not sure what 3G is, but it doesnt have a built in transmitter or whatever, but it has google maps that its pretty good about searching.i was told that you have to buy a transmitter thing to put on your keychain if you want to use the GPS.other than that, its good. i have a 2gig memory car and have like 30 songs on my phone, i take it to the gym as my mp3 player.its not as awesome as an iphone, but you can get online anywhere and not just at wifi spots
2/7/2008 10:24:05 PM
blackberries suck shit unless you're using it with BES on domino or netware. For all other cases get a windows mobile phone or an iphone.
2/7/2008 10:27:17 PM
no, there is not a treo that has GPS built in.you have to buy a bluetooth GPS receiver.the treo 750 has 3G HSDPA/UMTS built in.i have a treo 750, it does it's job. i'm waiting for the 2nd gen iPhone, though.had a cingular 8525 before, hated it.]
2/7/2008 10:28:09 PM
^exactly.and the sprint folks will tell you that it has it built in. which is wrong.
2/7/2008 10:30:23 PM
my vote goes with the q9c. That combines with $30 SERO plan = ftw. BB requires you to pay at least $30/month extra.
2/8/2008 1:18:48 PM
2/8/2008 1:22:43 PM
go with the State40q9c
2/8/2008 1:26:26 PM
Hands down get a blackberry. I have had Windows based TREO, Palm based TREO, and Blackberry.Blackberry has the best user interface, and is the most stable. If you type a lot you might wanna look past the pearl to maybe an 8830 or curve. The shared button keypad kind of sucks.
2/8/2008 1:28:35 PM
i love my 17 dollar BOOST MOBILE that im using till sprint replaces my real phonei got sick of fighting and paying them for phones so i just told em to suck it and got this cheap ass kyocera

I love the HTC Windows Mobile Pocket PC phones. I have an Athena series phone that I upgraded to Windows Mobile 6 and fucking love it. First full smartphone, but a blast. My reasons for liking this series:Full slide out keyboard for typingSyncing to my Outlook is a breezeDon't have to have a data plan because all of my work areas has full wireless, so I use that insteadFull touchscreen (hate the Q and Blackberry screens b/c of this)If your on Sprint, look at the HTC PPC-6800 Mogul. It has Windows Mobile 6 Professional on it by default, 400 mhz. processor, 64MB of RAM, 802.11g, etc. etc.
2/8/2008 1:37:36 PM
you need to tell us what you want the phone to. The Q9c does the following for me: run my drug programs, GPS, phone. I had the BB 8830 originally, but traded back in because the extra cost for BB plan.
2/8/2008 1:38:21 PM
I'm gonna mostly use it for messaging and mail, and maybe some internet surfing...so nothing huge. I don't have a ton of appointments or anything...I think I am gonna go ahead w/ the Centro.... it's only $99 and I think it will do what I want until I can get a google phone
2/8/2008 2:05:58 PM
^^^ Absolutely agree.
2/8/2008 3:27:40 PM
as long as you keep the tongue to a minimum it's alright
2/8/2008 3:29:35 PM
Treo 750 ftw...3G+Bluetooth+Laptop = decently fast internet most anywhere.
2/8/2008 4:06:45 PM
^almost all PDA phones can do that.
2/8/2008 4:32:06 PM
^yeah, that is nicegreat for long car rideseven the EDGE speeds aren't horrible, enough to chat on AIM and check emailwhich is all you can really do with any consistency unless you want AT&T to switch you to the $80/month unlimited computer data package, which they will do if you start using a lot of bandwidthbut if you keep usage low, they don't care. been doing it for like a year now.
2/8/2008 4:32:36 PM
depends on who you're with. I'm with sprint, have the Touch, and fucking love it.
2/8/2008 4:33:15 PM
^^that sucks, I have unlimited data on my plan, so no worries there.
