Church - Have catacombs that have a bunch of history and preserved crusaders. Rub one finger of the crusader for luckHurling and Irish football - Amateur sports that is represented by county population. Go to a game and then hang out in a pub for one its a great time. dublin is a great city, i had a blast for the day i was there. if you're going to be in ireland for 2-3 months, you are certainly going to want to explore if possible. and if you're into music, certainly find some pubs that have local music (there are plenty) and check that out. it's a blast to hang out and drink with the locals.in dublin, i'd definitely go to the guinness storehouse. it's basically a self guided exhibition that tells the story of guinness. the price of admission gets you access to the 3 or 4 story building with tons of exhibits and a free pint of guinness at the bar on top of the storehouse. i think it's called the gravity bar. there's an awesome view of the city and harbor from up here. also check out christ church cathedral. it's the oldest building in dublin, and it's amazing. they have an awesome crypt in there that is older than the building itself.if you do get out of dublin and can make it to these places, i would recommend cork, cobh (pronounced like cove), blarney, and the cliffs of moher (near doolin, also in county clare).cork is the second largest city in ireland and has this cool church you can go in and ring the bells. the tower and bells are said to be symbols of the city, but i forget the name of the church. there's tons of stuff to do in cork, but i'm drawing a blank.cobh is an awesome coastal town in cork harbor that sits on a pretty steep hill. this place is just a great town to spend a relaxing weekend. there were great pubs, plenty of things to do and some awesome things to see. st. colman's cathedral there is pretty sweet. i'd recommend the anchor bar. it has an awesome view of the town, and it's a little uphill out of downtown if i recall correctly.blarney is in county cork and is a just a short drive to the northwest. of course, this is where blarney castle is (where you can kiss the blarney stone for "the gift of gab") to do so, you have to climb the ruins and lean backwards over the top of the castle (people hold your legs) and it's pretty dern cool. some of the best pictures from my trip to ireland were of blarney castle and it's grounds.the cliffs of moher are pretty self explainatory. hands down, this was the most beautiful place i've ever been in my entire life. we saw the cliffs at sunset on a clear day and words cannot describe it. visiting here is a must if you go to ireland.sorry for the lengthy post, hope this helps some. pm me if you want some extra info and i'll try to find some stuff from our trip to help you out.[/book]

what does gas cost over there? over a small amount its not included in the travel policy

quite expensive... they sell by the litre of course. according to cnn, it's about $4.78 per gallon. you'll probably rent a little 4-banger though that will get around 30 miles per gallon. it's not cheap, but it could be the only time you're ever in ireland. http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/lists/global_gasprices/what's included in your travel policy?

Definitely go to the Aran Islands for a weekend. Also, I second the comment about Hurling and Gaelic Football. Both are really awesome sports. Then, there's always the drinking....

I just went on the biggest island. It's really desolate in places, but very beautiful. I was one of the most amazing places I've been to. I'd suggest getting a bike and riding around the island for a day. It helps if you're in decent shape, though; it's pretty hilly. Also, you'd probably want to have a fair map before you set out. There's also only one ATM on the islands, and it's often broken, so make sure you have cash before you leave the mainland.

might be swing by there in the coming weeks. if i only have a day or two in the city, what's the main stuff to see and do?

Trinity College is pretty nice to see. The Guinness storehouse is cool, but it's more of a museum than a brewery. I've heard the Jamison distillery is cool, but I didn't have a chance to make it there.
