since i cant take narcotics for pain, i've been researching lots of natural pain remedies. as you may or may not know, using vicodin, percocet, etc all the time eventally really hurts your ability to create natural painkillers.and stuff like ibuprofen, aspirin, and tylenol are ok.. but they can cause stomach bleeding, ulcers, liver damage, etc. especially if you take them a lot.so i broke a little part of my tooth and it didnt hurt at first, but within 2 days it hurt like fuck. im getting it root canaled but i cant take anything. it will be fixed monday, that was the best i could do without insurance jewing out on me.anyways, i read about some crazy home remedies and im about to go try them until monday. they're the ones from the internet that i trust. plus i need some room temperature drinks, so im gonna hook it up. a) vanilla extract [small amt dumped right on it, swish like twice, and spit]b) salt / room temp water [swished]c) baking soda / room temp water [swished]d) CLOVES or CLOVE oil [small amt right on the tooth]e) eating CASHEWS. supposedly thats a new thing that has research to support it, and i love cashews. something thats released when you chew them that kills local pain and prevents bacteria formationso theres the 5 i will try. over like 5 days. i actually just tried [A: vanilla ext] and it was immediate. but i think its short actng. says its 32% alcohol tooanyways i hope my research helps someone in the future. and i really hope cashews work!

Salt & WaterBaking Soda & WaterCashews (or any salty nut)From previous experience and having an aunt thats an oral surgeon, all 3 of these have worked for me. My favorite is the salty foods - I think it just forces your mouth to produce a lot of saliva and cleans out the wound. As for the salt water and baking soda they're the default choice for any kind of oral surgery. They alter the PH in your mouth to kill off bacteria and cleanse the wound. You can also man-up to hydrogen peroxide, but it's definitely not recommended unless it seems to be getting infected.Interested to see how the vanilla extract works out. I would imagine this would work better with something imported and hasn't sat on a shelf for 36 months. Stuff is nasty straight, but a great alternative if it works out! Best of luck to you!Oh yea, and if you have a little extra cash you may want to get the sea salt instead of the iodized table salt. It's less salty tasting, but still gets the job done. Iodized FTL.
