So who's got ashes today?

Anybody fasting? I've never fasted on Ash Wednesday before but am trying it out this year. No food till sundown

I am, but I'm starting at 6pm and its only for a physical I have to go to.

Back in my religious days, I fasted for 24 hours. Its a bitch.

fasting for 24 hours sucks b/c the first day is the hardest of any fast, after that you don't get hungry

my dad has done it for 3-4 days straight several different times. crazy. i remember eating a snoopy's hot dog in front of him one time (he loves them) on day 2 before i knew what he was doing, lol.

I'm thinking about doing a 24 hour all-water fast here sometime soon. I might push it out to 36 or 48 hours. Not sure yet.

I totally forgot it was Ash Wednesday until I saw a co-worker who had received ashes earlier. I guess I'm a bad Catholic (not that I'm really practicing at the moment...)

I got my ashes yesterday.

start sunday night and you're already 8 hours into the ballgame when you wake up. Missing breakfast sucks, but not as bad as going to bed on an empty stomach Monday night.

I just fasted yesterday (turns out I went 25 hrs without food, eek). From here on out its just no meat on Fridays (fish only, holler).
