HiI was wondering if anyone has any advice on getting some extra help/tutoring/divine intervention in French if you're not enrolled in a course? I took 101 years ago and need some review, but I'm cheap and don't want to pay for a tutor, and Undergrad Tutorial Services is only available to students currently enrolled in the course. I dodn't want to take 102 without some prep. If there's anyone out there in a similar situation, or perhaps someone that just likes to show off their French skills to grateful undergrads, or has some advice pertaining, that would be great. Thanks!

If you're only looking to get a refresher before taking another class, I really wouldn't worry too much. A lot of people have forgotten almost everything. I went a year or so after taking 101, then took 102 online from another school over the summer and learned approximately nothing, and then when I took 201 I was freaked out, but once I got to the class I realized everyone else had forgotten most of the info as well.

I would buy this book Its $13.00 here on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-French-Practice-Uitimate-Reference/dp/0071492429/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1201727325&sr=8-1This is hands down the best French language review book on the market and for the price its unbeatable. I started using mine in French 3 (High School) and continue to use it in 300-level French courses.

I don't know if you're eligible since you already have credit for 101, but you might be able to take 110. It's pretty much 101+102 in one semester, you'll get plenty of review before plunging into the 102 material.

I took 4 years of French in high school, so I'm fairly fluent in the language. You're welcome to pm me or msg me on aim: threewingedfury.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the advice . I have a big review book, I'm just a big nerd and want to make sure I'm pronouncing everything right. I might try that book, I like $13.00 much more than a semester's worth of tuition! Usually when I post a topic on here I get verbally abused or referred to a professor as some 'awesome' practical joke. So, thanks for the honest feedback
