yes, i realize this is more tech talk, but dammit, TT is slow today and i want answers!

accidentally quick-formatted an external drive with pictures and home video on it...i've used GetDataBack NTFS and it found nothing (i've used it before and it's done amazing things for crashed drives)...i used R-studio network edition and it found a bunch of randomly-named files (though some appear to be what i was looking for...just not all), and i used Power Data Recovery and it found a bunch of files of the right type, but the file sizes are all coming up the same (as in, i think it missed what i'm looking for)

any other suggestions? i've never had this kind of trouble recovering deleted/crashed/formatted data before...there were only about 300 files on there to begin with, and the drive is practically new

and yes, 'twas very dumb on my part
