sounds like fun. you should come to one of my classes at the gym as part of the routine.
1/29/2008 10:22:45 PM
what class is that?
1/29/2008 10:26:52 PM
God dammit begonias, he's not asking for your estrogen laiden group classes. Step off.To the op, sorry don't live in raleigh anymore.
1/29/2008 10:29:54 PM
he's looking for a partner/group to work out - what better than group fitness? I teach yoga on mondays, cardio combo on wednesdays, cardioboxing and to the core on sundays there are some classes that appeal to guys and have 50/50 guys/girls - raise the bar, power drills...if you're free fridays around noon, I might be able to get you in on free personal training

I usually do pretty heavy cardio (running 4 miles / elliptical / bike) on saturday's at peak in downtown Raleigh. If you have a membership, feel free to join.

you'd be surprized at how the "estrogen-laiden" classes can kick your ass... and how many guys attend.
2/1/2008 2:15:22 PM
i'm good--i'll stick to more manly endeavors
2/1/2008 2:21:12 PM
don't be skurred we all know you can't handle it
2/1/2008 2:22:14 PM
I'm still curious about just what a personal training session w/ you would be. I think that could have potential for hillarity.
2/1/2008 3:21:02 PM
i'll admit, i was at the gym the other day about that time and was tempted to go watch
2/1/2008 3:46:43 PM
I will admit I thought shit like yoga and stuff was kinda lame, till I started doing it as part of my new workout routine and it damn sure aint easy like I thought it would be, in fact its down right hard.

^^^^I'm not certified for PT yet, so it wouldn't be with me. I am certified to teach group fitness though. Anyone is more than welcome to workout with me - I can give suggestions or motivation. I'm studying for the certification test so it shouldn't be too long before I'm a REAL PT. ^^^You have no idea what you're missing. Whenever a group of guys start watching my class, I say hi and have everyone wave. Don't be that guy. Come in and doooooooooooo iiiiiiiiiiiittttttt.^^The first time I tried yoga, I hated and and thought it was lame. I gave it another chance (and also tried pilates) and now I'm hooked. It helps sooooooo much with soreness and flexibility. Plus the pilates really helped shape my abs (when I was doing it regularly). It's a lot harder than people think.^True, but I think everyone can benefit from a good cardio work out And we also have classes that aren't the stereotypical aerobic-dancing-type classes (i.e. Cardioboxing, Power Drills).[Edited on February 1, 2008 at 4:59 PM. There are plenty of other ways to do "cardio" than in classes. You can do it IN THE WEIGHT ROOM, on a feild, pulling a sled, swimming, rowwing, sailing a boat, playing basket ball, playing raquet ball, on a sidewalk, or on a bike.
2/1/2008 5:07:17 PM
I always look at "cardio classes" as exercise for people who get bored with running.
2/1/2008 5:08:42 PM
^^duh. I'm just saying.... BRANCH OUT! TRY SOMETHING NEW AND FUN!

2/1/2008 5:45:02 PM
2/2/2008 2:03:09 PM
both, eventually lifting really heavyim doing high reps low weight now and i switch it up and go realllll heavy once a week so thts where it would be nice to have a spotteralso lifting those high reps would be nice to have someone get in a few more total fatigue reps
2/2/2008 2:24:42 PM
was that you getting schooled last night @ the gym by that black guy in the purple shirt?
2/2/2008 2:30:59 PM
if by schooled you mean only had 2 points on me the 2 times we played them, then yea..considering he was a good 6 inches taller than me and the game before i started to guard him he won the game for them.then yea, sure...too bad you werent playing, id shut you down too.who were you? glad to see you out there playing me, matter of a fact im going today if you want some
2/2/2008 2:54:45 PM
arcgreek if it makes you feel any better i dont like begonias either]
2/2/2008 3:10:39 PM
haha i played the game before
2/2/2008 3:24:15 PM
well u must have been the guy in the black that got dominated by the guy that was with meand way to say you played before, knowing i wasnt the guy that was guarding him that gamedef. wasnt me that game, but good try.either the guy in the black or the one in the red that couldnt make a shot in either game
2/2/2008 3:32:41 PM
2/2/2008 6:42:21 PM
it depends on my muscles and how sore they are, im liftin 5 days a week tho, different groups of muscles of courseone day for rest and one strictly cardio, altho i do cardio every day...but its my longggg cardio workout
2/2/2008 7:16:29 PM
so you're saying you want to go heavy one day a week, but varying which muscle group you work heavy each week?
2/3/2008 10:35:54 AM
OP-I lift real heavy and go to Planet Fitness 7 days a week for my evening workout. My morning workouts are at Carmichael. My workout partner and I have been training together for almost 3 years non-stop so I guess we would be considered "very in shape" since we haven't been out of it at all.... But I know hes looking for a dude to workout with since my workouts are starting to stray from his now. You can PM or facebook msg me if you wanna try working out with him or I.PS: By heavy I mean-- he dead lifts like 500lbs, benches ~230 range, leg press ~650lbs... you know.. heavy. I lift heavy but I also weigh 100 pounds less than him.
2/3/2008 11:12:03 AM
how do people keep track of their weight on the leg press machines? do they just count the plates they put on it, or do they add in some amount for the weight of the sled?I never could figure out a good way to keep track of sled weights and angles, so I always avoid getting on leg press machines when I travel out of town. Unfortunately, I've found that some gyms are getting rid of squat racks and power cages altogether.
2/3/2008 2:14:03 PM
^ Typically, you count plates and add 65lbs for the sled.
2/3/2008 5:36:16 PM
i need a workout partner...would be nice to have someone help me change the weights and spot me
2/4/2008 3:33:45 AM
^ DNL the best way to get in shape is to change out your own plates
2/4/2008 6:58:40 AM
if your gym has 100 pound plates, you need someone else to help you load both ends of the bar at the same time.
2/4/2008 7:24:43 PM
2/4/2008 8:14:03 PM
If it's like that you can sign me up too.
2/4/2008 8:34:04 PM
i need people to join my grappling & kickboxing gym in durhamso pm me!
2/4/2008 9:41:07 PM
