is there a server problem this evening? like is there more traffic than normal, or is someone hotlinking the fuck out of tww or whatever? it seems to be hanging up waiting for responses from page requests and some image requests.

anyone else notice this? all the other sites appear the same. and this one is still not slow by any means. just seems like theres some link to some picture on fark or something stupid going on.

ps when did they start letting you hotlink again

i agree - it does seem a bit slower tonight - i thought the hotlinking was killed after a few attempts - i thought it let some small # of hotlinks and then stopped but i could be wrong

Server Error in '/' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

hahah yeah i know i know. i figure even if you would go all and try to get all that info at once, that it's such a small page that it would only be noticed for a second. even a full-on post count bot probably wouldnt be a huge 'hit' cause of how often stuff gets purged.

although i think it would be neat to break down the past 90 days (or whatever isnt purged) posts into time groups, like the #tww stats page: http://www.overdrivegaming.com/twwstats/tww.html

Nightcrawlers (Hours 0-6)
Early birds (Hours 6-12)
Afternoon shift (Hours 12-18)
Evening chatters (Hours 18-24)

or some variation. that one seems cool though. or even more crazy, have individual graphs of posting frequency with different lines for each, and run a total line up top

haha just something to think about if you're looking for a cool project.

that would be cool. i dont know how long the longest section (chitchat?) goes without a purge... but it would be a lot cooler/more accurate if you could make it stretch exactly as long as all the past posts go.

instead of the one before where it went all the way back to the oldest posts that still exist, i propose you make it only go as far back as the shortest section with all the posts so all the posts in the range can be accounted for

of course, if you get bored enough and dont have to stress DA SERVA too much

And the search for a decent TWC alternative continues... sadly I think this leaves me looking at DSL.
