if you suspend someone there should be a reason and a time period expressed. who is with me? mods do you jobs correctly, completely, and respectfully.

i think some of the people who have been suspended for months on end without the mods even acknowledging it would love to be a victim of marko ragea whole 10 minute suspension. he just wanted to make sure you went potty today!!1

if you are suspended, how are you going to get that information? or better yet, how are the mods going to get the suspended user that information w/out making it public. which its never been public.are we supposed to send you a pm and wait until you log on to read it, respond and discuss it?i mean...great job really thinking this out b/c your ideas are just blowing my mind over here.

yeah i mean it's not like you need an email address to register with the site or anythingoh wait
1/30/2008 9:44:29 AM
yeah and we are really going to take the time to track all that information down and send it to an email addy that, more than likely, isnt even used anymorefurther more...you people know the difference b/w right and wrong and it shouldnt be hard to figure out why you get suspendednow a time table i could understand but thats one of the more fun things about being a moderator...we like to keep you guessing

I dont think the email system works. The email I registered isn't valid anymore, and haven't been able to get it updated even w/ a PM to CrazyJ a couple of years ago and a PM to nael a few weeks ago. Maybe a user-changeable email form?It would be nice if, when suspended and you try to login, a message would pop up saying that the user is suspended for _________ reason. I know that would require some modification to the code which probably won't happen, but that would seem like it would solve a lot of the BS that's going on lately.

how about an "official suspended thread" or something in here where mods can list who has been suspended and for how long? that addresses the wants of the users as well as the logistical problems that pm'ing or emailing pose.i don't see the big deal in the first place, i remember it used to be no problem for previous mods (and a few of the current ones) to always step up and say "i suspended X for doing Y, they're gone for Z days" when asked or if a "free X" thread was made. what's the big secret?

its a problem when a mod suspends a user for a minor offense and then promptly forgets about them. I had to pay $5 dollar bucks to create a new account when I needed to use the classifieds so that I could pm theDuke about my suspension that was 8 months old for a single post during the cheese incident in the soap box.there should be some accountability/timelimit/system for the moderators.

...or give the moderators something like this. This is what it's like on CB. It 1) ensures that users get a warning (it's 4 warnings before they can even be suspended. After that, it's fair game), 2) ensures that the moderators don't forget to unsuspend (done automatically after the set number of days expires) and 3) provides a place for a warning/suspension reason for other moderators to see.... (fuck the TWW users NEEDING to know why others were suspended. It's really none of their business)aha, I'll still help moderate on TWW if you guys need any help!!1 Throw my name in the hat yo...]

if they are not logged in at the time of the PM being sent, they wouldnt get it until after it is over...and also, you cant tell if they read it or not.....and are they suppose to wait 10 minutes so you have a chance to read it? By then, they would of forgotten to suspend you unless you reply.
