also, based on some of the state workers i looked up, there's no way to verify that as current/updated for everyone. they have people listed who dont work there anymore, have different titles now, etc etc etc. also they might have had to buy out amatos contract or something. could be either i guess

^^^ that is common... the university doesn't care about teaching practically at all. To move up the assistant, assoc, full professor latter takes publications and research (this is what they review during promotion and tenure).

People who are real good at research and publications get endowed/named professorships.

I have no idea how Skwinkle meant the original quote, but in humanities classes I've never encountered any profs who are just flat out terrible instructors. I have, however, encountered a few total assholes, and they all happen to be paid more than the decent human beings.

We are, we don't get paid shit (12-20K). You put in your dues get the PH.D (4-6 years more school) and often don't start out very high with pay (45-65K) if your lucky enough to start off at a major school like this (research 1).

Then 5-7 years to prove your tenure worthy before the major pay comes.
