Which candidate can you most see giving the speech this time next year?

I say Obama. Romney could deliver a decent one I think but I don't think I would like anything he has to say. McCain, Giuliani, Huckabee, Clinton, Edwards, and Paul all make me sort of cringe.

Ron Paul.

But, you do realize, IIRC, that they don't make a state of the union address their first year, right?

Whatever, I was 13 when Bush would have given his first one. The concept still stands.

I think almost everyone would agree that Obama would deliver the best speech

but I'm voting for President of the United States, not Speechgiver of the United States

concerning the topic at hand, I thought Bush delivered a good speech at the State of the Union. I thought he got to his points quickly and I thought it was probably his best one to date as far as laying out his plans and thoughts in a clear manner.

Are you joking? His "plans and thoughts" came off like a petty rehashing of the last 7 years. It was probably pretty clear because he played small ball.

I think 'small ball' is what he shouldve been doing the whole time. He is a simple person. He was elected largely because the American people thought they could identify with him. He should deliver simple speeches with simple objectives. This is one of the only times he has ever done that.

I'd vote for an president who started the state of the union with "Please keep all applause to the end, my show comes on at 9."
