im selling this on my brothers lot..looking to get around low retail to clean retail.. nada has it at 7600 for low retail 8800 for clean retail and 9800 for high retail aka car max. you make be looking at the standard tacoma which is not the same as a prerunner..bigger wheels..higher lift. also look at any tacoma on craigslist. you will find that my price is quite fair in comparison. thanks for looking anywaysmore accurate #'s Low Retail Clean Retail Value High Retail TOTAL PRICE $7,675 $8,975* $9,725 [Edited on January 28, 2008 at 10:51 PM. OK- NADA is for RETAIL SALES....Does this look like a fucking car lot to you?lock<suspend<ban<terminate You will never get 1 penny above "good" KBB value on TWW- If you are not looking to sell for that dollar amount or less then you ought to log off, delete user name, and head to your brothers car lot, throw on a bow-tie, and wait with your thumb up your ass for a sucker to wonder by-

^bc you're too broke to buy a used car doesnt mean someone else isnt interestedas for the thumb up an ass remark...ill leave that for you to do since you know so much about it

lol, good luck getting "retail" price on TWW.

while i will concede that toyota trucks typically have a higher market value vs. book value, this price is ridiculous. maybe for a 4wd extended cab.also, just because you have it sitting on your brother's car lot doesn't mean you automatically ask retail for it. typically, car dealers include some extras that most private parties don't. these are things like detailing, performing any neccessary repairs or maintinance, complete vehicle history, a limited warranty in some cases, etc.so, what are you offering that would be worth paying a premium? it sounds like you're asking someone to pay dealer price without offering anything in return.

^ I agree that toyota trucks typically do have higher market value but to say that this price is ridiculous is a little farfetched. I was actually surprised by the high values tacomas are listed at in looking for a double door tacoma. based on the extensive searching i did i thought the price was fair. I know this is tww and people normallly expect to get things dirt cheap here but also know that a serious buyer would take this into consideration. as far as repairs and maintenance...it doesnt need any..perfect working order. the car has been detailed also. I'd say the least im looking to get for this is 7500-thats why i posted reasonable offer.thanks for the input BBR

nice truck and i would be interested, but that is asking for a bit too much

I see several problems with this truck for that price:1. 2WD2. 4 Cyl3. Regular cabif it were a 4x4, v6, extended cab.... now that would be a good price

This obviously didnt spark any serious interest in tww community but thanks all for the replies/ input. I think this car will easily go for 7500 on any of my brother or friends lots. Ill let u guys know what it sells for whether is 6k or 8k

Note: its about time for this truck to have its timing belt replaced .... $500.
1/30/2008 4:11:08 PM
did all that timing belt..alternater belts.. spark plugs and wires
1/30/2008 8:07:43 PM
5000$
1/30/2008 10:41:55 PM
maybe a dumb question, but what is the significance of the "prerunner" designation?
1/30/2008 11:09:51 PM
^^http://raleigh.craigslist.org/car/548708349.html^higher lift..bigger tires..other small differences..the tacoma in the above link is not a prerunner
1/30/2008 11:11:29 PM
145k, no lift -4500$ for the one in the link? ...5500$ for yours [Edited on January 30, 2008 at 11:31 PM. Reason : a]

Not trying to hijack the thread..but I have been looking into getting a Tacoma. (Not for what this guy is asking)Since it sounds like some people here know their trucks, this thread seemed like the perfect time to get some questions answered. What year did the Tacoma go from belt to chain? If I am not mistaken, Toyota stopped timing belts for their entire line. I just do not know the year.Also..what year was the VVI introduced in the Tacoma?
1/31/2008 11:34:42 AM
^go to edmunds.com, they have that sort of information for each model year of a particular car

^^ I started this thread (/message_topic.aspx?topic=505980) when I was looking for my Taco. It's been pretty helpful to me so far.
1/31/2008 1:55:50 PM
wait, so all toyota vehicles are chain now?
1/31/2008 6:55:57 PM
^That is my understanding...but I am far from an expert. And I am also not sure how far back that goes.Going to check out that thread and Edmunds...Thanks
