currently just have cable that runs me about 80 bucks a month


moving to a place where I will need cable and internet...


would it be cheaper for me to transfer my service or sign up for new service under my fiancee's name to get some sort of discount?

No, tell them you are moving and you are thinking of going with satelliete. Mine dropped $40 for that.
