Looking for someone local willing to provide a similar service as this site http://uexboxmods.com/index.php but without the obvious drawback of having to mail in my 360. Willing to pay the same price as the company above ($60), maybe even more, provided that you guarantee your work. ie- don't brick my xbox and laugh in my face.If you'd like to do or know someone who will please drop me a pm.Thanks.

what dvd drive do you have

this will void your MS warranty, when you get Red ring of death again (i'm just going to assume everyone has gotten it).

Walls1441, not true... i've never gotten it. Mine has been modded since I purchased it almost 2 years ago.NCSU Hobbit I would think twice about modding right now, pretty much everyone is being banned. However, if you dont care about Xbox Live go for it. I modded mine so you don't need to take it apart to update the firmware. Here is a pic of the mod:

I've got the new Lite-on drive. The one with no holes in the drive bay.^^I don't care about the MS warranty, I wouldn't trust MS to service it either, I would go with another company instead. I havn't ever gotten the RROD either.^I also don't do any kind of online gaming, so I really don't care about getting banned or not.Like I said, I'm just looking for someone local who is comfortable enough with the process to ensure that my box don't get bricked. Otherwise I'll just send it away to the above company to do it for me. I had no problem doing a full soft mod and HDD change out on my original XBox myself, but the 360 modding seems a little too involved for me to risk it by myself.

You can use a hair dryer to safely remove the MS sticker so you can keep your warrantee. If you can remove the mod chip or just do the software mod then I think you could still get it serviced.

^^^ It's one of those things where, yes, it voids your warranty, but if the sticker's intact, they'll still fix it.Also, where'd you snag a SATA cable that short?

the one in the picture is the cable that connects the dvd drive to the motherboard, so its free, thank Microsoft!
