why in the hell do people keep taking their cars to that retard? especially now that we have other well established gm specialist performance shops around.lol, i just noticed the part about him asking the guy to keep it off the forums... like his poor reputation isn't already well known around most of them.[Edited on January 27, 2008 at 1:26 AM. wow i read most of the thread. teh dude needs to get a lawyer already!
1/27/2008 1:25:02 AM
I'd sue him and get him out of business.
1/27/2008 2:29:24 AM
Man that guy's an asshole. He may as well just sue him out of business so he can't let his guys do that again. If he had just manned up super fast and said "well, I seriously fucked up by letting one of my technicians drive your car" and then went and got him a replacement vette that had the same or fewer miles on it (and then did the mods at reduced cost) he might have gotten away without getting sued.
1/27/2008 2:59:10 AM
i've been telling people for years to stay away from that dumbass.
1/27/2008 9:35:15 AM
if i had that gif of Snoop Dogg shaking his head 'no' I'd put it hereI mean unless the work on the car requires a road test, don't drive it more than from your parking lot to your garage bay............dur. Obviously CAM has to be shady not to have insurance for this either......[Edited on January 27, 2008 at 10:47 AM. Reason : psi]

So, after CAM goes broke from the impending law suite/ rappage, which one of you fuckers is going to buy that place and give us cheap dino time?
1/27/2008 11:07:00 AM
I took my car to him once to have him turn all the active handling shit off (I didn't have the original shocks and stuff on there so it just gave a shit ton of errors all the time on the display..).Whatever he did lasted about 5 minutes and he said he'd try again, if I paid him again... what a crock of shitOh, his reasoning was he had to take it to a dealership nearby for some of the things to be done on a techII and he couldn't get that done again for free... I later learned if he had just unhooked all of the active handling sensors before disabling it in the computer then it would have stayed disabled. The problem is the computer will sense it being there and turn it back on if you don't disconnect it--apparently he wasn't aware of this[Edited on January 27, 2008 at 11:28 AM. Reason : asdf]

^^^yeah, it's all over most of the more popular boards now. ls1tech, ls1gto, digitalcorvettes, etc. there are plenty other horror stories about his customer service out that have aready been out there for years. a quick search will turn up a lot. there used to be a bunch of threads on hpj, but i think a lot of it has been purged/deleted.^not that it really matters to you now, but you can also buy a set of simulators that plug into the harnesses for about $150 or so. diy in a few minutes. particularly useful for 97-98 cars which can't have the active suspension tuned out. same with the tire monitors, etc. also.[Edited on January 27, 2008 at 2:02 PM. I found putting some really heavy duty resistors in the plugs did the trick for a few weeks but they'd always burn out or eventually start throwing errors again.. Ah well...I thought they were more than $150 but cool
1/27/2008 2:03:35 PM
I vote that Ivan should inherit the shop. Ivan's got more knowledge than that fucking tool. Shit, I think Ivan could beat that fucker up in his current condition.
1/27/2008 2:19:56 PM
^^yeah, that's basically what any simulator is... resistors in factory style plugs for the convenience of being plug/play.i just did a quick search, cheapest suspension set i found were $170... so a little more than i remembered.^shoot, i vote optmusprimer... he's the resident expert on all things durham, especially shops in the ghetto. does anyone remember the thread on nceuro a few months ago about creech pulling a gun on a customer? it's since been deleted, supposedly for legal reasons.[Edited on January 27, 2008 at 2:34 PM. I hope the fucker goes out of business once and for all. He's been a piece of shit from day one..........thats why his business partner Mike Ellis left his dumbass.

Jeff Creech fucked me over. He pretty much swore to me that he could tune a Megasquirt, even on a naturally aspired rx-7 application. I had called him to inquire because it said on his website they could do it. In hindsight I should have gotten a personal referral to a tuner from someone I know... I realize now that there are a lot of "professional tuners" who can't do the most difficult aspects of driveability tuning (idle, cold start, gas mileage, accel enrichments, timing maps, etc). Anyway I paid $400 and when I got there, he had his strapdown bitch (19 year old guy who happened to run megasquirt on his volvo) road tune the car. I don't blame that guy at all, but his knowledge of the system was hardly more than my own and clearly Jeff had put a lot of responsibility on him. When I asked him why this lower employee was riding with me, he told me straight up that he knows how to tune, he just doesn't know how to use megasquirt. Then I got some dyno time, which was part of the package. But the road tuning was NOT what I paid for... so I basically got screwed out of $300. I think part of the reason why he didn't ride with me was that his fat ass couldn't fit in an Rx-7 anyway.[Edited on January 27, 2008 at 7:19 PM. Reason : .]

I always hear nothing but bad things about that place. This takes the cake. He did finally come back with a response in case you guys missed it.
1/27/2008 11:40:38 PM
I think the unacceptable part of the deal was that he'd salvage the parts and work on the 2nd car...
1/28/2008 12:17:51 AM
exactly. he should be willing to do whatever the customer requested to make it right. paying for the work to be performed on a new car at another shop is not unreasonable at all. she doesn't owe him a second chance on a $40-50k mistake.nowhere in that response do i see him really apologize for what happened, explain what happened, or why it happened. he also doesn't bother to address what actions he plans to take to ensure that something like this won't happen again.
1/28/2008 1:07:51 AM
What i don't get is he still assumes that she would bring any car back to him after that accident. I mean if a shop destroyed my car, the last thing I would do is bring another car to the. back when i worked at the mustang shop I heard tons of horror stories from customers. Mike Ellis was a good customer and to this day I have never heard an ill word about him, but CAM, not quite the same way...hopefully this incident makes the change.
1/28/2008 6:51:06 AM
Hmm, the chick who posted the story in the corvette forum has the username "fstpoon." Wow.
2/4/2008 11:32:30 AM
this guy is stupid. there is no way he is not at fault completely so any idiot should have sense enough to satisfy the customer to minimize further losses due to reputation damage, legal fees, etc...
2/4/2008 12:47:46 PM
I really think he (Creech) has psychological problems. I've been over to CAM about 3 times and spoken to Jeff on the phone a few times, and he is really moody. He can be a laid back, intelligent guy to talk to about cars. Or he can be really arrogant, impatient, and irritable.

Psychological issues are the least of his problems lately. From pulling a gun on a customer, to letting one of his employees joy drive a customers car for the weekend and total it......He has always been 'moody'. The clique I rolled with back from 2001 used to hangout with him, and even support his shop. Pretty much one by one.......he stabbed each of us in the back in a different way. Thats a real friend for ya. I wish that greasy piece of shit would run up and down the train tracks over near his shop.....
2/4/2008 11:02:10 PM
^same here. he never did anything to me directly other than a couple of less than stellar tunes, but he screwed enough people i knew for me to quit messing with him.whatever happened with the gun thing btw? i know the thread disappeared from nc euro, then i never heard anything else about it.
