How do you tell someone in your family to stop sending you every email forward that comes down the tubes. Do people actually believe that there are hypodermic needles in the ball pits at chuck e cheese's and that bin laden is endorsing hilary? Sending links to snopes.com back to this person has had no effect. I don't want to block the person in case there is actually an important message.

Just tell them you don't want forwarded e-mail like that. Tell them it bothers you and you don't like slanderous e-mails. I told my family that I didn't want that crap anymore and they stopped very quickly.

she occasionally forwards things from other family members with whom I don't communicate directly. I pretty much just want to tell her to stop with the horseshit.

My aunt used to send a bunch of crap like that.

So my mom started responding to her with snopes links pertinent to whatever she'd sent out.

She quit sending the emails.

my dad used to forward me useless shit all the time until over christmas break when I told him anything with "FW:...." in the subject line is in the trash regardless of who it is from...

If you don't respond, they usually slow it down - at least mine do.

Or reply saying that you check your email at work, and your boss was scanning emails and said that forwards had viruses attached and you are afraid of being the one to give the whole company a virus.
