I will only recommend Shure in-ear sound isolating headphones, but they aren't exactly affordable.

I've got a pair of their E4's, which I think is part of their old product line (they recently changed their style/model numbering). The equivalent would be the SE420, which means you could probably get an older model on eBay.They are expensive, but have the best sound of any portable headphone/earbud I've ever heard or used. You should use that "economy stimulus" rebate check to buy you a pair

i know this sounds weird but try out the premium zune headphones. i have both them and the shure e2cs. the e2cs are like $70 online the zunes are about half that. the shures have a better noise canceling and low end but the zunes are a good set for the $.

Pretty much anything by sennheiser. Their stuff is available online for much less than msrp and tends to be really good value for your money.

for the $40-50 range i like the sony in ear ones. they come w/ different size ear thingys like most do but they fit well, block out outside noises pretty good, and sound great.

it kinda depends on what you are doing with your iPod.......

^^ True, but for one, I can barely hear the things since they don't fit in my ears well at all. If I got some of those inner ear bitches that sound nice, maybe I wouldn't have to turn it out to hear And thanks for everyones suggestions
