the point was?It was interesting and a decent article....but I don't know why it had almost 2 full pages, besides them having nothing better to print. Also, are we all alowed to go play on the roofs of buildings? If so, why haven't I heard of this.

Great piece of work.Fairly interesting and it's always good to mull over the history of the institution that you attend.

^^ good catch
1/23/2008 11:52:37 PM
hahha it wasnt a hard catch, the sentences were right beside each other. i hate it when a cool story like that has such a bad ending. hopefully the 2006 part was an error and they meant 1956 or something otherwise its all a lie!
1/24/2008 12:24:42 AM
was the building renovated in 2006? i think that would be an easy way to see if they were lying
1/24/2008 12:28:57 AM
Withers was renovated in 2006, but as far as we can tell, no one has really rung the bell for any specific purpose other than just to see if the clapper works.I was trying to address the fact that Robbins was "releasing" the bell from its obscurity as well as its silence. I guess that's kind of muddy.

that was painful to read. kind of a cool story, but god damn its like they tried to make it sound like Morgan Freeman was going to read from it in a movie.

^ HAHAHA...oh whatever.Dude is sitting in an interview, on the record, and says that. He probably laughed while saying it. And knowing Tyler, he probably checked to make sure the guy knew he was on the record when he said it. "That's a fucking journalist for you." HA!

^^Heh, I just find it funny any time I see "This is off the record, don't print this..." in a quote in a news article.Oh okay, I took photos of that site just a couple weeks ago.
1/24/2008 11:39:29 AM
^ hahaha...yeah that's good stuff. I mean, technically, once an interview starts, the person can't just say something and go "By the way, that's off the record." The reporter is under no obligation to oblige that. Prefacing something with, "This is off the record, not for attribution, deep background, etc." is different. But that was clearly not the case here. Dude was just talking about ringing an old bell. No biggie.
