Banditos is fun, Tobacco Company, tons of places down the "Shockoe Slip", Stool Pigeons, just walk up and down Cary street from 10th-14th or so.

Mama Zu's is a really good "hole in the wall" italian place that you should try out.

I live in Richmond, and all the while there are plenty of things to see and do..there really isn't a "nice, safe apartment" for a "single girl" to "live alone" in the part of Richmond near VCU..if you want to live alone in that part of city, carry a gun with you at all times. I'd live in the suburbs and commute if that's an option.

but seriously, around Shocktoe Slip basically right beside 95 is pretty cool. good bars, restaurants.

The "Fan" is a good area around VCU for students. There's a bunch of single apartments and it's a nice area.

I know someone who lives in the loft buildings by the river and goes to VCU. He seems to like it but I have never been to his place.

also Richmond isnt safe but theres no need to carry a gun...

only mugger money.

VCU is basically scattered all over Richmond. You should probably just pick where you want to live and commute from there.
