on a more serious noteI think he'd be very vocal against the federal war on drugswhich started out, and largely remains a tool for institutionalized racism

WHITE PEOPLE BRING DRUGS OVER FOR THE SOLE INTENTION OF HURTING THE BLACK RACE
1/21/2008 8:42:00 AM
So I am assuming this thread was not supposed to be serious so I will ruin it with my post.It is a miniblog.I am assuming you mean MLK Jr.I think this is what he would say. "I wanted people to be able to live together as a whole and not be separated by REALLY THICK race lines. That is not what separates black from white from yellow from red. We are all people with human characteristics. We may never know what it is like to walk in another races' shoes but we can come together on the fact that we all feel, love, have physical pain, and have experiences in life that alter our existence." I think he turns over in his graves every time there is an issue that is exploded out of proportion just bc race is the main issue. Gender is another issue as well. Instead of saying you may never know what it is like to be black, or a Native American, or being a woman, or poor white trash, we should be willing to help one another understand instead of automatically separating ourselves into boxes and getting that racial divide even greater. People have not gone through what I have gone through and I will never be told that I have not had a painful existence just because I don't know what it is like to be such race. I am held back just as much as the next person in different ways and finding opportunity and privilege I will always have to work hard for. I do believe when people use race or gender as the reason that they are held back makes me think they are ashamed of who they are and they want others to feel sorry for them instead of spurring them on to do what they want.I really wish people would listen to what he had to say instead of just seeing him as a black man.[Edited on January 21, 2008 at 9:28 AM. "Although the majority of my people still work at low-paying jobs, piss money away on rent, and breed like little black rabbits, I am pleased to observe that a negligible proportion of them have achieved great success as the professional athletes who compete against each other for the amusement of their white oppressors"
