the other thread got me thinking

and really, its like tucson is something out of a game of sim city 2000. like a really bad city. one where they made all the roads in big squares and then just laid down zones randomly.

and then they put in this huge highway that no one uses, and all the little grid streets are packed full of cars

and all the shit downtown is black and abandoned so they kept adding and adding and adding and it just goes on forever. and the whole backbone is this one road in the middle that you can tell they made first.

not to mention the river thats its built on. the river that comes to life when it rains and just goes where it wants to and rages across town.

first time i thought about it like that, but its one of those total failure cities. sim city always seems so promising and easy when the map is empty, duuuuuude

I have been to Arizona and New Mexico once, and it was really depressing for the most part, TONS of cheap roadside Indian "artifacts" and trinkets, really sad

also theres this road called tangerine road out in the middle of nowhere that connects north tucson(oro valley) to marana

it reminds me of that BUILD CONNECTION TO NEIGHBOR shit. its just a road thats like 10 miles long in the middle of nowhere that connects these 2 big roads. nothing on it. and thats like the edge of the map and you know its all gonna fill it with more blue shit (strip malls)

ha what a fun game i wanna play

^^ hahaha o of a -- "A" mountain is the only cool thing i saw in tucson, well that and the rattlesnake bridge thing. besides the nature, which was amazing

^ i dont think you got off i-40. there is a lot of that but once you venture out into the state the only indian artifacts are slot machines and blackjack tables. DESERT DIAMOND BABY

yeah well then you did see a lot of that crap. i actually took 10 to 20 to 30 to 40 once coming east and that route is a lot less touristy for some reason. i guess 40 is just so long and popular that they bought up all the land there. i think the navajo actually own lots of land on 40 in eastern AZ. i like the navajo nation. they participate in daylight savings while the rest of the state is all too good for that shit yo

^ hahha i drove a 92 sentra through the mountains south of there. whatever highway cuts from 40 to snowflake to oracle to tucson. shit was crazy and i have no idea how that car did it

how easy is it to cross the border without a passport and get back in? also how easy is it to cross the border, buy some good ass marijuana, and get back in the country?

and if you can answer those, you wouldnt happen to know how much marijuana goes for in mexico do you?

You know I was showing up in this thread sooner or later...

First off, having lived there throughout my college career, I'll say this about Tucson: There are parts of it that are just like parts in every other city; crappy...but downtown Tucson has like 10 buildings and the south side of Tucson, while a shit hole, is also home to some really cool shit like the airplane graveyard at Davis-Monthan and south of Tucson there are things like the caves...and beautiful places to hike with waterfalls and ponds...and then there's Mt. Lemmon and the drive up there....and Sabino Canyon, and Gates Pass, Tanque Verde Falls.....etc.....etc.... You're right about the highway, it makes no sense to use it unless you're going out of Tucson but it's certainly needed and I really don't think it cuts off the city too much.

Having said all that, I was just in Tucson to go visit friends after the New Years break and it occured to me that I, in all my years in college, had never actually taken a picture of 'A' mountain, so we did

Also pictured, the mall on campus (the mall is a long grassy area that runs through one part of campus, but the grass was just reseeded so it's dankish looking)
