What are some of the little things you have to adjust to that people might not think of before moving there?stuff like all the football games coming on early as shit etc.
1/20/2008 2:38:07 AM
are you moving to alaska?
1/20/2008 2:38:30 AM
lack of thought on this subject has attested catastrophic
1/20/2008 2:38:44 AM
^^ probably not, but I was thinking of interesting/really different places to live that would still be in the US. hahaha, was that gleeful optimism that I was? haha[Edited on January 20, 2008 at 2:40 AM. Reason : d]
1/20/2008 2:39:45 AM
i've had a real desire to live in maine lately. although that's not as different as alaska.
1/20/2008 2:40:45 AM
north carolinacaliforniahawaiiQ: states in which i would reside[Edited on January 20, 2008 at 2:42 AM. Reason : long term]
1/20/2008 2:41:48 AM
^^ yeah, that would be somewhat similar weather wise but I meant more like time wise, taking forever for shit to be shipped to you etc.[Edited on January 20, 2008 at 2:42 AM. Reason : d]
1/20/2008 2:42:13 AM
i doubt it takes forever. bet a plane from LA to anchorage and one to raleigh take about the same amount of time. plus i bet they can bust ass to alaska and not worry about the route
1/20/2008 2:43:48 AM
yeah, but I would think they wouldnt have as many flights, and definitely not as many trucking/train trips
1/20/2008 2:44:31 AM
ha i didnt know you could drive itView Larger Map
1/20/2008 2:45:23 AM

1/20/2008 2:46:41 AM
1/20/2008 2:46:43 AM

1/20/2008 2:50:42 AM

1/20/2008 2:50:58 AM

1/20/2008 2:51:34 AM
is stuff like beef really fucking expensive there?do you pretty much have to have a car with 4 wheel drive? everyone have a beard?
1/20/2008 2:53:38 AM
the woman from the oregon DOT at the career fair made a good case for oregon.right now, places i'm kindof considering after graduation are as follows, in no particular order:ncillinoiswisconsinpennsylvaniaor anywhere in new england
1/20/2008 2:54:12 AM
^ taxes are such a bitch in NE, but it would be sweet as shit in Vermont or Maine or somethingOregon would be a big one, Portland is an amazing city
1/20/2008 2:55:13 AM
agreed. love portland. lust seattle.
1/20/2008 2:55:58 AM
i need access to a coast...i must shred the slopes though too
1/20/2008 2:56:01 AM
what i really want to live in is a medium sized town. not a suburb, but a good old fashioned town.i don't know why that appeals to me so much. oh, and i want it to be cold.
1/20/2008 2:56:43 AM
to be more specificwashington- seattleillinois- chicagocolorado- just think its a decent place to liveflorida- eastern time zone, cities, beaches- con- hurricanes and jews, prolly wouldnt live there, infact i put it as last placeva- very similar to ncnc- best state to live in my opinionga-atlantathats how i feel as of right now being 23 and graduating in less than a year[Edited on January 20, 2008 at 2:57 AM. Reason : and i kinda want to say oregon...honestly...actually i will...and i hear they have no sales tax]
1/20/2008 2:57:03 AM
I dont care about the coast, but I have to live in an urban area, doesnt have to be a big city but has to be urban.Would be cool as shit to own a pub in some little town in alaska
1/20/2008 2:57:27 AM
you want a town?oracle, azbut its hot
1/20/2008 2:57:30 AM

Atlanta is fun, went through some real shit periods as it grew way too big too fast but its catching up to itself now, I love it here
1/20/2008 2:59:46 AM
nd Montreal would be a sweet road trip... very european city, by far the most european of any major city in North America, and its not really that far at all
1/20/2008 3:01:55 AM
1/20/2008 3:02:44 AM
yeah i think that arizona is one of those places that you get sick of. at least the desert part. on the other hand, i think that flagstaff and everything that way would be great, and within a decent temperature and humidity range
1/20/2008 3:02:53 AM
^^ yeah, I liked raleigh best when I lived in CV, but then I bought a house out on capital and it was nice, big size etc, but I fucking hated the suburbs[Edited on January 20, 2008 at 3:05 AM. Reason : d]
1/20/2008 3:04:06 AM
yeah, i'm really not a big fan of raleigh as a city. it's a megaburb, congested and way too hot for my taste.however my grandparents and aunt/uncle live here, who are awesome, and i <3 state athletics. raleigh as a city has no draw to it at all for me.
1/20/2008 3:10:21 AM
yup
1/20/2008 3:11:27 AM
oh, and there's no god damn water.
1/20/2008 3:15:39 AM

raleigh is terrible. wake county as a whole is terrible. i havent totally given up on NC. i did, but i gave it another chance (some would say that i was forced to ) and i'm really liking the greensboro area, plus for whatever stupid reason the same house in raleigh would be a fuckton more and it wouldnt be anywhere near as close to anything as my place now
1/20/2008 3:25:15 AM
i am pretty high on san fran at the moment
1/20/2008 3:26:51 AM
^^^ after consulting googlemaps, that's not too far from me, my family's in the bethlehem area.actually in bethlehem would be a cool place to live, and fits all my criteria of being a smaller urban environment and cold. however, it's way to close to where i went to highschool, so i can't live there out of principle.[Edited on January 20, 2008 at 3:28 AM.
