hi guys, i heard this korean bbq restaurant in north raleigh(around zip code 27609, near atlantic ave) where you can grill on your own, the restaurant will just provide the equipments and raw food. does anybody know what's the name or exact address of it? thanks.

Seoul Garden. 4701 Atlantic Ave. Very authentic food, when we go we're normally the only non-koreans. the grill thing cost $50+ so go with a group. If it's less than 3 people, the stuff from the regular menu, especially the soup is all excellent.

is this Bali Hai that you are thinking of? you pay about $5 for a bowl, and then stack that shit with as much veggies and meat as you can...and then they cook it for you and give you rice. Great food, bad shits later.

You're probably thinking Seoul Garden, which I've heard has great bulgogi. I was also told to go to Chosunok which is in Durham.

it's very expensive and the food isn't that great.

i was very disappointed.

they were stingy with the side dishes.

the quality of ingredients was def. lacking.

they charged $15-$20 for a $5 bottle of rice wine.

hmm...we had bulgogi to cook by ourselves and they served about 15 different free side salads for that. I liked that, although the food is somewhat specific - a lot of fermented stuff, which some people may not like.

$10 - $15 for authentic korean food isn't expensive by any stretch of the imagination. the portions were quite generous IMO.

i'm not a fan of cooking my own stuff. i don't even like getting my own ingredients at the mongolian places. but i guess that appeals to some people. bulgogi is where it's at though.

Yeh I finally went there (Seoul Garden) after wanting to find a Korean restaurant in N. Raleigh. Finally found out this one was opening and went. Wasn't very good. Quite disappointing. I still like Chosun Ok. Its in Durham, but worth it if you're looking for authentic Korean food and don't have a Korean momma that is willing to cook you some. I like me some Kim-Chee Pancakes

Chosunok (int of 55 and 54, more like RTP than Durham) was very good when I went.

I actually havent tried Seoul Garden, but will give it a try. Is it a buffet, or do you have to order specific things to cook yourself. In Seoul, they have "Seoul Buffet", which was a favorite for friends and I when we wanted to stuff ourselves.

The place near maynard and walnut street in cary is actually the best I have had around here though.

They make a great DwuenJong ChiGae and KimChi ChiGae, and the KimChi is the best I have had in the triangle so far as well. I think the restaurant is a Japanese name, but the owners are Korean. Very nice people.

I'll vouch for Chosun Ok being pretty good. I don't have anything to compare it against since I don't really know what constitutes "good" Korean, but I enjoyed it every time I ate there.
