Is this the decision of departments, colleges, or the university? Does anyone know where I can find out anything about this?

I'm doing this too. My adviser told me to just go ahead and sign up for them in the spring when you'd normally sign up for fall classes, you should still be able to get a PIN. TRACS should automatically switch you over to PBS at the appropriate time. I'm doing this in CSC for the record.

From what I know it's up to the department.

Talk to your advisor. I just had to tell the departmental secretary and the faculty member who was in charge of the ceremony so they would know to add me to the ceremony. My name was on the program with an asterisk denoting that I would be finishing my course work in the summer. I walked like everyone else and was handed a diploma holder like everyone else. Only difference was that inside mine was a piece of paper saying I would receive my diploma in the mail after completing my courses.

^^ you are still CSC if you don't graduate until summer. we won't move you to PBS.

if you wish to continue after you graduate, we ask that you notify us (R&R) so that we can get you into the PBS program. it is a lot easier if you tell us ahead of time instead of us having to clean it up based on a report.

Yeah, well my advisor told me that our department didnt allow that and never had let anyone. Funny thing is, my friend did the exact thing last year and he had the same advisor in the same department, so i know it CAN be done. I dont even really care about it, except for my parents. Also, my other major is letting me walk when i have two classes to take this summer.

i think it's up to the department. Everything I read on the NCSU webpage said that you would have to wait until the fall graduation, but my advisor said that our department (ECE) let's students walk in the spring.

I was in BUS and just talked to my adviser. I was able to walk in May and take my final course in Sum I. Forgot what all happened exactly, but the adviser led the way.

talk to the department head, or find out who is in charge of the ceremony and talk to them.
