... why the fuck cant you make shows as awesome as the adventures of pete and pete anymore???and yes, its going to turn into one of those threadsbut seriously, i'm watching season 3 right now and there is nothing that comes on that channel now that even comes close to it

might have something to do with you growing older
1/17/2008 3:37:19 PM
I agree. I love kid shows still and I cannot get into the CRAP that is on that channel.
1/17/2008 3:37:41 PM
no, pete and pete was good no matter what age group you're inits almost in the same boat and pee-wee's playhouse

Kids today are more sophisticated than we were. We were all dumb and stuff because Al Gore had invented the internet but AOL and Prodigy hadn't yet put it into our homes.Pete & Pete, Ren & Stimpy, Double Dare; these shows appealed to kids who could get excited about painting sticks they found in the yard.Today's kids need to know about fashion advice and social issues. The times, they are a changing.

what happened to the next generation?were we just lucky enough to be blessed with the quality programming we had? was our generation ahead of its time? i need answers. b/c the crap on there now is nowhere close to the quality of P&P, Salute, Hey Dude, etc

i loved salute your shorts! and hey dude was definitely one of my favorite nick shows
1/17/2008 3:50:41 PM
i think the quality of child actors has something to do with it as well.I can go back and watch shows of our times and they are still great, but the newer ones almost make me suicidal with the horrible acting involved

I really liked Ahhhhhh! Real Monsters, Guts, DD, Salute your Shorts....I have to think of some more.
1/17/2008 3:53:14 PM
pete and pete, doug, rocko's modern life and even hey arnold were all way too smart to be shown on present-day nickelodeon[Edited on January 17, 2008 at 3:54 PM. Reason : how could i forget rocko?]
1/17/2008 3:53:52 PM
i liked Ahhh Real Monsters a lot too.clarissa, alex mack... these fucking kids today don't deserve to see these shows.but what i would give for a Camp Anawana box set

Alex Mack was pretty good too but Pete & Pete was my fav. Ren & Stimpy was my favorite cartoon. Someone mentioned Rocko's Modern Life earlier, that show was amazingly funny on such a simple level. I remember one episode when he had to go to the DMV and everyone there was literally crazy. They had to watch some movie and the instructor comes in and yells "YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF WILD PIGS!" then one of the reoccurring background characters who actually was a boar shouted out "IIIIIII'M A WIIIIIIIIIILD PIIIIIIIIG!" awesome.

Nickelodeon and Nick at Night have both gone to shit. I'm calling for a buyout, and then hit the reset button.
