Speed trap on 40, heading toward Wilmington from Raleigh in the work zone near exits 312-319. I can't remember while exit it is closest to.

Two police cruisers sit in the work zone between Garner and Clayton. The first cruiser clocks cars traveling toward Wilmington and the second cruiser pulls them. In the afternoon, they clock and pull people headed in to Raleigh. The work zone is posted 60 mph. I've seen atleast 2 cars pulled everyday for the past 3 weeks during my commute (6:30 am and 5 pm).

Sometimes there's a speed trap on Avent Ferry near Lake Johnson

If you're coming down the hill on Avent Ferry from Tryon, the speed limit goes from 45 to 35 near the Lake Johnson parking lot right before you cross over the lake. The cop sits on a patch of clay on the right-hand side of the road (coming from Tryon) clocking people coming down the hill. Luckily the couple of times that the cop was there I was going in the opposite direction and could see him from a distance, otherwise he definately would have nailed me.

^^^ Man that's a tough spot. One of my two speeding tickets ever was from that.

I don't know a soul that goes under 55 on Edwards Mill. I try to stay at 47-50 now, and people fly up behind me and pass me.

Dangerous spot to speed for sure.

^ they do that all the time, i almost went to jail over that one, because i used to work at that shop, and the fucker pulled me as i was leaving and accused me of coming off western and dodging the light, i got out of the truck cussing him out and was about ready to drop his ass when my boss ran over and pulled me back and told the asshat to get the fuck off his property and called the precinct captain that he knew

the rpd ended up mailing me a letter of apology, i still have it framed
