A threat of a slight mix cancels classes for a couple hours, but for the past couple of years, measureable snow and ice keeps classes and campus running on time with accidents and slips. You know, we do have a friggen meteorology school here (I am a student of it). There is barely a chance of sleet tomorrow.

Nah, nah. Jamz0r is right. Starting to switch to a mix around the Triad, and it's about 36 around here. Snowing in Asheville, G'ville/Spartanburg, Columbia, North Georgia and East Tennessee. Looking like it will turn over a little earlier. Still not sure how long it will last once it does change over.

when it snowed around this time last year, i fell and busted my ass no less than 3 times while walking around campus because they fucking didn't cancel class

also the wolfline bus i rode (after getting tired of busting my ass) was going down that small hill behind mann and skidded down the hill on the ice

north carolina has to be the hardest place to forecast in the winter for precipitation type

slight slight slight variations in the direction of the wind coming off the high pressure things can cause the cold air to be funneled in or out based on the mountains
