Are they worth getting? Which ones are better than others? Garmin, Magellan, Navigon, TomTom? So many to choose from.

Oh come on, using 's to pluralize acronyms was not only accepted but preferred until fairly recently in terms of modern English. More complete language guides will actually concede that the use with acronyms is not necessarily incorrect, just un-needed. Many of these guides advocate using it when "the meaning may become ambiguous" or "altered." You'll often see the example of "SOS's" being acceptable in place of "SOSs." Also, you'll see advice in guides suggesting its use when the resultant combination may have another undesirable interpretation. For example, one might to use "PM's" instead of "PMs" in an article about PMS to ensure there is no confusion between the two. When guides are accepting such subjective exceptions and the technical correctness of its use with acronyms is not consistently agreed on, don't be a grammar whore.

nuvi.

el nacho will be here in a minute to tell you about the mio. i've now used a mio and while the "features list" may be comparable to that of the nuvi, it simply feels cheap, looks and doesn't work nearly as well. my brother got one for christmas and he let me use it a little. the screen looks like shit compared to a nuvi and the interface isn't anywhere close to comparable. to me it'd be worth the little extra for something of much higher quality
