Youth had been accused of raping stepfather's 8-year-old daughter

FORT WORTH, Texas - A father sodomized his 18-year-old stepson to avenge the teenager's alleged rape of the man's 8-year-old daughter, police said.

The father, 32, turned himself into to authorities on Friday and was released from jail Saturday after posting a $17,500 bond. He faces a charge of aggravated sexual assault.

The stepson was arrested Jan. 2 and charged with suspicion of aggravated sexual assault. Police say the father caught him assaulting his daughter, and a subsequent examination at a hospital revealed the girl had been sodomized

Sgt. Cheryl Johnson, supervisor of the Fort Worth sex crimes unit, said in a story posted Saturday on the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Web site that people need to "allow the criminal justice system to work for them."

"This is a very unique case, but we have a criminal justice system in place, and no one can take the law into their own hands," Johnson said.

The Star-Telegram didn't identify the father or the stepson to protect the identity of the girl. Fort Worth police didn't immediately return phone and e-mail messages from The Associated Press.

When the stepson was arrested, the man warned his wife not to get the teenager out of jail. She posted bond for the teen's release. When he called home Jan. 3 after getting released, the father took the call and picked him up, police said.

Instead of taking the teenager home, the Arlington man drove to an abandoned house in Fort Worth, beat his stepson with a baseball bat and sodomized him with a metal tool, police said.

After the man left, the stepson found a pay phone and called police, who searched the abandoned home.

"We did find evidence at the scene to corroborate our victim's story," Johnson said.

When I read the thread title I assumed this was in WV, but then I saw that he sodomized him with a tool and didn't actually sodomize the stepson himself, which makes it much less creepy and gay.

i've seen people get 50,000 for being mean... and i bet depending on the person or the location, that could easily be a million dollar bond crime in some areas

i'm usually not a big fan of the feds stepping in... but now, more than ever, i think federal magistrates/judges need to be involved in the bond setting process. the constitution is rolling over in its grave.

do i think the guy who raped the 8 year old deserves to be punished if he did it?? hell yeah i do. and i can really imagine how mad the dad was. not that it would make it right, but i could see the father going more crazy if the rapist was convicted and sentenced to probation or something - and then going after him for punishment. but right out of the gate, that's wild. i wonder what the kid's bond was after he was charged. i guess it was way too low too

the system is failing us. this guy supposedly premeditated a kidnapping and brutal attack that was sexual in nature and walked in and out of jail, while other places make a game out of setting bonds.

i wish political candidates would talk about more than 3 issues so i'd know who i wanted to vote for.

I'm not so sure that the kind of person who rapes an 8 year is the kind of person we should be glad is alive. If the father had killed him it would have been an overall benefit to society.

I'm all in favor of allowing the justice system to do its job, but I also wouldn't have shed a tear if the father had killed the twisted fuck. I mean, this isn't a 12 year old screwing an 8 year old here, this is an adult (18 yrs) sodomizing an 8 year old. That's exactly the kind of person who should be eliminated from the gene pool.

maybe im just not redneck enough, but a couple hours revenge isnt worth the possibility of spending the rest of my life in jail. it sounds like the dad lucked out and didnt get charged as heavily as he could/should have been, but he didnt know he was gonna get a break when he was in the process of kidnapping, raping, and beating someone without regard for their life.

i'd be mad as hell too if it were my daughter, but i'd be pulling my own hair out because of frustration. cause the natural reaction is to want to hurt the guy. but the lack of self control has a lot to do with what makes criminals different from the rest of society.

I guess bc I am pregnant with a little girl I was just thinking of her and how psycho I prob could be about her.

I cannot say what I would have done and I hope I am never in that position. I can be an angry person and I have done some stupid things out of anger so I guess I could be a criminal at heart as well.
