I'm gonna have to dig out my library card for this...I'm pretty sure I'm on file as Christine M. [lastname], and have never gotten such a message

Maybe, despite how they posted it, the library had actually left off the "." after her middle initial.

^Or they just store one character for the middle initial and the period is added at the frontend.

My mom's middle initial is an M and there were always late library book messages on her answering machine. The "M" was always read as a letter and not a number.
