but everywhere I was going was a 2 hour wait.
So i went.
$46 for an oil change.
they tried to get me to upgrade on the type of oil.
get my tires rotated - which i did this morning.
change my air filter - which i did last month.
flush my transmission fluid which i did a few months ago.
and the list goes on.

fucking hate that place.
i should have waited the 2 hours.

What did you pay $46 for?

You should just be able to tell them "no" for stuff and come up to the nromal $20 or whatever.

this is why i change my own oil now

i still need to keep a check on stuff like the fluids that DO eventually need replacement (windshield wiper, engine coolant) and filter stuff

yea, do it yourself. Especially since it's a trailblazers, high enough so you could crawl underneath. I don't trust those people at jiffy lube to do anything to my car except inspection.

on the plus side, the Jiffy Lube on Western had their sign say:
BOSS SAID
CHANGE SIGN
SO I DID

the other night
it was apparently changed the next day

I usually do everything myself but I got lazy and had it done for me for the first time ever.

$30 at Aamco for:
-Oil change (I demanded Full Synthetic) and filter
-Fluids check
-Rotate tires
-Full state inspection (Maryland)

Turned out to be worth it - he pointed out some problems with my rear brake calipers, and he was right. Who'da thought?

And the better word would be request, not demand. They were very accomodating.

The sign was up because they were doing a countdown until Dec. people needed to get their cars inspected. They left it up at '0 day' for about 2 days, then then they changed it to 'boss said change the sign...etc.'

If changing your own is a problem....
You should have gone to the one right off six forks (near the BP/Animal Hospital) nobody was there getting work done and they only came inside to do that 'this is your air filter' bit. Girlfriend needed her car inspected/oil changed and she had a gift card for a free oil change, only reason why I didn't change it.

It's a lot cheaper to do it yourself, plus you don't have to pay 'disposal fees', just take it to the auto place that you buy the oil from and you're good. The places around here see students as $$$ hence why they gave you their sales pitch.

i used to go to the western JL all the time for oil changes and inspections, too.

went in there for my inspection and my tires failed, so i went to a used tire place downtown somewhere and and bought two cheap used tires to pass inspection.

when the JL guy measured tired depth and told me i failed again i yelled out (not necessarily at him) "oh what the fuck, i just BOUGHT these fucking tires yesterday JUST for this inspection!"

dude looks around, says "fuck it, i don't care. gimme the old inspection and i'll make it look like you just had to come back and have your emissions retested"

charged me $10 bucks, passed me, sent me on my merry way

I took my truck into Capital Ford in Wilmington to get some warranty work done when it had about 30,000 miles. they said my trans. fluid was burnt (I guess they figured I didn't have sense enough to pull out the dipstick and see that it was fine, as it should be on a truck with that many miles), power steering needed flushing, and a bunch of other maintenance that the owner's manual didn't even call for. I laughed at them and they tried to say that it was time for all that stuff to be done. the bad part is some people would have paid the 500 dollars that they wanted. I guess that's why they call them stealerships.

my husband and i have had good luck at colony tire for oil changes without them trying to talk you into extra shit. we'd do the oil changes ourselves but we are just too damn busy. generally we don't have to wait long either and sometimes if you are needing something else done at the same time they won't charge you for the oil change.
just thought you might want to know.
