He wears red shoes, we pull off an upset over an FSU or some other highly regarded team. Fans love red shoes, say "Chuck is who he is!...blah blah".

We start to lose, fans say Chuck needs to focus more on the game than his outfit. Finally the red shoes are a joke and the fans are asking for him to quit wearing them.



Sidney:

Sidney wears red jacket and we pull off an upset win over powerhouse rival UNC. Fan love him and say he's "true to the university and understands what it means to coach at NC State" and other gay, stupid bullshit.

Sidney wears red jacket again this year a couple times and we usually get blown out and embarassed. Fans say that he needs to concentrate more on getting the team to play up to their talent and not to worry about wearing a silly red jacket.

Will Sid stop wearing the red jacket??

I like sweaters better than jackets. If I was college coach, I would totally pimp the sweater ala Bobby Knight style.

I hate dressing up...and it would suck to be sweating it up in a suit all game. Actually, I'd prefer a Huggins windbreaker-type get up.

And I could honestly care less what our coaches wear...as long as they win. I just always thought it was funny the way our fans reacted to Chuck's shoes and glasses. They absolutely LOVED it at first and then they abhorred it his last couple years here.

this is nothing new. these comparisons were made last year when he first wore the red jacket. people (at least i) knew it would turn out just like chuck if he didn't win games.

but it only matters if you win or lose games. if you win, fans will praise everything you do, including what type of attire wear. if you lose, fans will criticize everything you do.

take UNC's danny green for instance. he dances around like a fag before their games, but gets praised for doing so b/c unc wins so many games. if they lost as many as us people would say he needs to focus on the game and his fundamentals not dance class
