me and my friends had a spot (pre-9/11) that we could sit in the back of the trucks and watch the planes just before they landed


it was cool seeing the contrails off the wingtips just a 100' over your head as they came down

i was flying over Baltimore/DC yesterday and was seeing several other planes from my window. Then all of a sudden I see one that was definitely within 200 yds of us pop up from underneath. Going I guess E to our SSW. I could count windows it was so close.
