(in a plane, of course)

I'm gonna take some kinda trip in June, I think. continental US. Relatively inexpensive. Where should I go?

probably 4-5 days. probably by myself, so it needs to be somewhere with many stimuli.

guess I should've said I have no interest in going to Vegas.

^^i've always wanted to go to Chicago, for some reason. probably not in June, though. midwest heat waves kill people.

and LOL @ the DC bit. why the hell would I vacation there? i've been there about 7-8 times, and it's only been fun when I've had friends around.

Joel, i forgot to mention this to you earlier; but you should come with Chris and me to Atlanta to see DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist. We're leaving Sunday, Jan. 20, and coming back the morning of the 22nd.

but I really hate DJ Shadow's last album

Cut Chemist FTW, however.

Skybus is cheep as shit. A lot of $20 round-trip tickets out of Greensboro.

You starting getting up to $75 and $80 when you head to New England.

dude trust me on the skybus. the greensboro city bus is cheaper, and you get like 22 rides for the same price.

u get what u pay for

that said, fly into phoenix and rent a car. drive to tucson (2 hours or so) and get a place. check out all the awesome tour shit, like the cactus and desert museum. saguaro national park, cactus pipe national park

beautiful shit

then drive back to phx and get a room, then and enjoy a little city life at night and some nature during the day and fly back

thats a nice 3 day weekend and wouldnt be too expensive (unless you smoke)

also it would be smart to do this before spring. you might even catch some of that cool stuff. like snow on the mountains while you have on a t-shirt. neato

gnarly.

i plotted out a pretty thorough financial (saving) plan yesterday for the entire year.

i've been saving quite well for about the past 3 weeks. got about $1,100 saved up right now (but I"ll have 292 withdrawn from my account tomorrow for my auto). i ought to have a pretty nice nestegg of about 4,200 by mid-June.

Chicago's a great city, in the summer it's nice. Lakefront makes for good people watching, there's always a nightlife going on, you can see baseball games (go Sox!), and the museums are excellent. Don't need to rent a car, as either airport has access to public transportation, and you can get anywhere via the El, trains, buses, or walking. As for the heat, it only kills people because don't see it coming.

If you like eating, the Taste of Chicago is late june. It's a blast, if I could go this year I would.
