I don't know how things work now, but I "worked" for Technician as a news reporter for a year when I was in school. If I remember, the pay was ten bucks a story, but I never filed to get paid for any stories...it just wasn't worth the hassle and I was only writing because I enjoyed it.

They struggled to get anyone who knew what they were doing to write, and the editors had a little better knowledge of things (although several times the editors edited my stories for fluidity, etc., and as a result of the new wording and language, including glaring factual inaccuracies...I was pissed).

So if they "hired" her back, it may just be because otherwise they'd be printing blank pages and you guys wouldn't hav eanything to debate.
